Its always been dodgy but I had noticed its got worst recently, by coincidence certain content gets locked at 540p on netflix, 540p is a bit of a weird resolution, and we know the reason on netflix is DRM, so I suspect they deliberately restrict it as they think browser DRM is too weak.(similarly) Just found Iplayer (windows/opera) is serving up 540p content for programs where 720p should be available (from download options), so I think they have changed adaptive bitrate mechanism
