BBC possibly to drop F1 coverage...

I'm going to cry.

I've loved the BBC's coverage, and the return of adverts is going to drive me nuts. Thankyou Bernie, for ruining my enjoyment. I'll be able to watch it, but that's not the point.

:(

I have Sky, but this news is really disappointing, it should remain free to air and I know plenty of people who are F1 fans who won't be able to watch the races only shown live on Sky.

The BBC coverage has been nothing short of fantastic, so this is really annoying. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the weekend, also as to whether BBC staff can talk much about it, as I bet they aren't allowed to express their opinion.

The questions over the presenting team are a big one, obviously Brundle doesn't sound happy, but it's likely Sky will offer big money to get the likes of him. I would imagine Jake Humprefy might go from the BBC, it's been quite well known that he has been groomed for a lead Olympics presenter role, as he's younger than the others and actually likeable. His involvement in BBC F1 2012 was always going to be in a reduced capacity because of the Olympics. So either Lee Mckenzie just covers for him or becomes the main BBC anchor, I just get the feeling that as the cuts have already shown, what's left of BBC coverage will be butchered.

Very glad that at least the Sky coverage is ad free. You can guarantee there will be breaks every 5 mins pre & post race and likely a sponsor for the race on the channel.

Well if the so called coverage of MotoGP by the BBC is anything to go by you'll be jumping all over the channels and red button trying to find it while they make room for more 'mainstream viewing'.

In other words middle class crap that no one watches, of course Auntie is always right

The only problem listening to Five Live on top of another FTA feed is that the audio will be out of sync, I tried it before when Murray was on Five Live a few years ago and it was unwatchable due to being 5-10 seconds out.

You have to delay the audio, it's not that difficult, but yeah you shouldn't have to do it.

Would be great FOM introduced an online subscription. say £25 a season, or £3.99 a race.

I'd buy that, since I prefer to watch online at my convenience

It's a shame BBC can't have an arm that offers PPV F1 races on iPlayer.

You'd pay the BBC extra for half the grand prize on top of your license fee??

Quite interesting to see the amount of 'fans' here. 'yeah, am a fan as long as it costs me nothing'

Brindle not happy? Maybe cos his salary just got halved and he gets half as many junkets

Yep I would be more than happy to pay per race, just not £61.
£5 a race would be fine, I would probably even stretch to £10.

We finally get decent uninterrupted F1 coverage & now it gets taken away, Gutted. :(
