HI

Im on virgin media and have skysports 1 only , would i get f1 channel or must i have the full sports package?

thanks

It looks like you would need the sky had package. Although I don't know how it works on virgin.
Its £7 to get sky hd, but says you need sky sports/movies or another relevant package. Its confusing. Hopfully it'll be come much clearer soon.

Sky have stated there are no plans to put the channel on Freeview.

They have said nothing about Virgin, so I would assume they are still sorting out a deal and will provide details as an when they can.

Edit: Oh my...

SKY do have a history of using attractive presenters/models.
The F1 team has its full quota of (old) men. They will definitely be using at least 1 presenter, within the team, who is female and just so happens to be very attractive.

I think the BBD are more politically correct and less obvious.

Still, I wouldn't watch F1 to see females. I watch it for the racing. If I want good looking women, there are 1000s of free porn websites which show beautiful women, going "all the way"...for free.

I'm going to wait to hear more info about the Sky channel deals. We have VM in the house so don't mind paying to add an F1 channel on there but would prefer to have it via Freesat. Still got the fall back option of RTL of course :)

Sky have confirmed that it will not be shown on Freesat or Freeview. (at least, thats what Mr Men posted a few pages back, referencing Sky as the source).

This although I don't want a new 12month contract.
£10 a month extra on top of virgin is acceptable for f1 anymore and I'll try going down the freestat route.

Although I don't want to cave in because for all other viewing for the last 5 years Freeview is all we need I can see myself caving in. It's a lot of money just for 10 F1 races.

What I will probably do is wait until the first couple of races have run. If it looks like Redbull still have a huge advantage I can get by with highlights for half the races tbh. If it looks like being a close season I will bite the bullet and slap one of those horrible dishes on my house. :D

Sky have just dropped a teaser about the new F1 channel:

No real insights, just confirms that there's no charge for existing SS customers. You can get more info on it all on twitter if you followe @SkySportsF1.

I'm hoping they move all motorsports to the F1 channel, NASCAR, Indycars etc. As well as the rumour that the F1 channel will show live coverage of all support races - a bit like ITV4 does for BTCC.
