BBC Sports Personality really bugs me.

How on earth did Zara Phillips win ?
Surely Calzaghe or Clarke were more deserving of the title, I don't think many people have heard of Zara Phillips let alone would have voted for her - something smells very fishy about this....

I think it was the fact that people had heard of her that won it for her! You cant tell me all those people watched the world equestrian games when it was on BBC? They voted for her cos they knew her as a royal.

Apparently there was a story about Darren Clarke in the news of the world today about him finding another woman which knowing the GBP has cost it for him.

Beth Tweddle got 12% of votes, with Darren Clarke on 21%. and Zara fetching more than a third of the vote. :) .

What was Jenson button doing in there though? (nomination)

As for PERSONALITY award, where does that leave Damon hill/Michael owen :(

for calzaghe not to be in the top 3 is rather shocking.

walcott young award winner? terrible.
that blind girl or the world no1 at 16 table tennis champion (how wrong is it that i cannot even remember their names) should have easily been placed above him

how on earth did theo walcott win that young award thing? what exactly has he done this year apart from keep the bench warm?

Agreed, it's a fix imo, also Calzaghe should have won

what a dull program.

british sport is so crap these days its unbelievable.

Button on there. Murray on there! what have these people done??

that bird on the luge thing, i mean she didnt even win ffs!

why are we so happy applauding mediocrity.

Zara Phillips? Blinkin' 'ek, who would have thought that so many people like horse on horse action?

Nicole and Beth are both fantastic achievers and yet the public just don't get it... *sigh* :(

Oh dear. Who just saw that on MOTD?

LOL that was better than the real thing. To be honest out of the shortlist, Clarke, or Calzaghe should have won it. Didn't they say at one point Calzaghe was winning? But he ended up finishing outside the top 3

Sports personality of the year? So is it quite literally about personality or is it about ability?
On either count, Theo Wallcott? Doens't make any sense at all.

I guess the beeb call it personality of the year because the Brits are lacking in sportsmanship in many areas :p .

I think it's good Zara won it - why not. She's the best in her game and overall a very charming person. Ignore the royalty bit, her feet are firmly placed on the ground.

Some royal muppet gets it. Just like her interbred mum a few years back.

MMMmmm Surprise surprise.

BBC is full of royal asslickers anyway and this result just confirms what a load of B*****S it really is.
