BBC to end Formula 1 television contract early

I have to question whether the Channel 4 coverage will have legs.

Yet they'll quite happily splash the cash on twee, middle-class sports like the Davis Cup or football.

This decision is largely irrelevant to me anyway, F1 just hasn't been the same since they split the rights between the BBC and Sky.

fixed it for you.

Everyone seems to suck up to her, give her more credibility and value her opinion because she is married to Toto and is British. Maybe reading into it too much but they seem to have highlighted drivers within that picture by giving them helmets and somehow Wolff gets a helmet but Karun and Prost don't.

She is Scottish. Born in Oban.

Awfully big cast, should be half that surely.

Mark Webber is a big plus, talks no nonsense straight to the point and witty, but not sure how much he will actually figure?

Apparently there will also be some spin off series with DC & Guy Martin, interested to see what that will be.

I think I might tune into this from time to time. I really like Webber but Coulthard and Jordan annoys me. Coulthard is always out with Red Bull pom poms while Eddie is an insufferable know it all.

Is that also Lewis's brother I see?

C4 are normally the ones mixing it up, seems they have gone a little safe on this one with the only odd ball being Steve Jones.

There are a couple of people who I think we will all agree have been included because they tick some boxes that align with Channel 4s current strategy of being the UKs "diverse" broadcaster...

I watched the qualifying highlights on 4OD this morning and it was rubbish! The adverts just cut in irrespective of what what the commentators were saying in the middle of the action. Was it like this when broadcast or only on the online catchup service?

It looked like the online ad breaks were just slapped on at regular intervals, overwriting the programme. At the very least I would have thought the programme content would have been 'paused' so you didn't miss any during ads.

I'm watching the highlights via the 4 catch-up app this evening.

The Quality is poor compared to the iPlayer highlights and there are regular 4minute add breaks which are a little long with volume that seems to increase for no reason.
