BBC vs Lineker

Wright - talks nonsense at times but has an infectious energy
Shearer - I think he's average. Has developed a decent rapport with Richards though, some of the podcast/top10 things are worth a watch.
Jenas - annoying but quite articulate. Feels like he should contribute more than he does, talks a good game but not enough substance behind it.
Murphy - likes the sound of his own voice a bit too much, slightly aloof in terms of his assessment of football. Dry sense of humour that doesn't always come off. He's basically Mark Lawrenson Mk II.
Keown - quite eloquent but a bit biased and doesn't seem to like having his opinions challenged
Richards - quite likeable but you can tell he perhaps lacks the knowledge/experience of some pundits
Scott - don't mind her but I think she's almost been 'media groomed' a bit too much, like Lineker was in his early days. Trying too hard to project an image to drive a career in media.
Lineker - I like him, dry sense of humour, very assured and natural, fairly self-deprecating
Chapman - wasn't convinced at first but actually not bad
Logan - good
Manish - does the job, not great, not terrible
Williams - will be interesting to see more of him
Dublin - rubbish
Crooks - rubbish, annoying, arrogant
Carney - not sure what to think yet. She seems to be the 'premier' female pundit, she makes some good points but at times her style drifts into slightly colloquial tone, like she's subconsciously trying to 'fit in with the lads' or something.

edit: as for MOTD, I felt 20min was a bit short, needed to show team lineups and a bit extra. Post match interviews were missed HOWEVER what I tend to find is they are very hit or miss, say you have a dozen interviews it's probably only 3 or 4 that are interesting.

Since the video recorder was invented I have always recorded MOTD and I've never listened to the pundits, I just forward to the next match.
I did expect longer matches and commentary though, it was quite disappointing when I put it on 20 minutes ago.

You can hear the cogs grinding as the BBC tries to think of a plausible punishment for their irreplaceable talent who they don't actually have a beef with but the rules say it looks bad so do something.

Just had a peak on the socials and all I see is a bunch of people fighting and tweeting about Britexit, NHS etc under the MOTD #.

Sky Sports show the goals pretty much straight after the matches on YouTube.
This but it is a bit short.

Doesn't Gary get paid something daft also?

Do we have a Rotten Tomatoes situation going on here?

On one hand publications are saying MoTD without hosts is crap, and on the other the viewers are saying it's better than ever without hosts.

I've never listened to the hosts because I always record and forward but I expect my highlights to last longer and with commentary.
I understand that some people just like to see goals but I want proper highlights.
That last night was terrible.

I'm not sure anyone would genuinely say they would like it to continue exactly as it was in latest format. The lack of commentary is so soulless, as someone said above.

I totally understand people not liking certain pundits, and maybe enjoying a condensed format focusing only on showing the highlights of the games. But I wouldn't tune in for more of what we just got, and I'm quite sure that applies to the vast majority too.

I think it could easily come out as a publicity win for the program.

The tricky bit is the gap between here and resuming business as normal. Up to Tim Davie to demonstrate his tightrope walking as head of the circus.
