BBC Vs Sky - Who was best?

So BBC stole it and then Sky stole it from the BBC :p

Either way, the things the BBC had before Sky do well. The bits they have added have been less successfull. The F1 show, Simon, Georgie, the hour and a half of dull stupid buildup, the massively over the top graphics, etc.

Georgie Thompson will be returning...

:(

This is interesting though:

Exclusive Races: 3 breaks in the build-up, with the last break running no later than 30 minutes before the race starts.
2 breaks post-race, with the earliest break running 10 minutes after the champagne celebration.

Shared Races: 3 breaks in the build-up, with the last break running no later than 60 minutes before the race starts.
2 breaks post-race, with the earliest break running 10 minutes after the champagne celebration.

Looks like they have identified that adverts in the buildup for shared races mean people turn over to the BBC and then don't come back. The first Sky ad break of a race show that will be shown while the BBC have their live coverage going too will not be until after the race. I've always said the problem with breaks while the BBC have live coverage is that people will just watch the BBC instead. Sky will never be able to put ads during the race while the BBC have them live.

Hmmm 20million viewers lost in a year (expected a drop but nothing that significant) - wonder how sponsors will view that once the other big F1 european countries move to the same type of subscriber lead viewing platform...
