BBC Vs Sky - Who was best?

I've watched every race this year live either on the BBC or by streaming Sky, and there's no contest - the BBC is better in every conceivable way. Fake Jake has so little personality I can't even remember his name, Damon Hill is a plank, their eye candy totty up in the Sky Fancy Graphics Room has only two things going for her and they're both up front and Croft appears to be contractually obliged to mention a Sky product every ten minutes.

Sky was a little shaky at the beginning of the year. It's was kinda obvious that Lazenby and Georgie didn't really know much about the sport at that time. Fair play though - they picked it up pretty quickly and by the time the European season kicked off the quality was excellent.

HD picture quality and DD 5.1 sound is stunning as it the blanket coverage of all the practice sessions. I've been pleasantly surprised and hope they keep the quality up. Perfectly happy with my HD pack £10/month top-up as it stands.

From the comments, I'm very glad I didn't stump up the £30+ a month to watch 10 races live!

All I can hope is JH replacement has the same amount of charisma and banter with the rest of them.

Sky, although my opinion of Allan McNish as a presenter has gone down since the Brazil coverage. Does he truly believe that Brazilians speak latin?

BBC in every way, sky seems too scripted and lacks feeling

Say what you like about the BBC team, yes it's cringy, funny, light hearted but also has better technical content etc.
I feel BBC spans it all from humour to facts, it's emotional when sky is much colder in its typical sky way but at same time lacks detail.
I also feel sky is very obvious,. Ie hot girl, flashy graphics, almost American.

Also for me I have to watch skygo, greatful I can but pictures and sound obviously not idealon tv

Sky by a long shot. I had to watch the Japanese gp on BBC because my virgin went down (Erm) and i hated the commentary... Sorry Ben and DC.

Ok. DC is a terrible commentator :D

No he's not, he's called things way before many, he called Hamilton leaving way before many races as he walked away from his car, he seems to have a more "modern" mindset and better relationship with the teams, even being inside with RedBull gives him good insights as he is still actively driving these things.
Then you can hear him actively get excited when something happens on track.

He really is. It was cringe worthy to listen to IMO.

Cringe worthy or not, I'd rather listen to an insider who has accurate predictions, over the circus that is Sky sometimes :p

I attempted to watch sky's coverage on the free weekend ended upvturning it off and waiting for the BBC highlights as I thought the sky team were pretty dull.

Sky for me, BBC race commentary tends to have a lot more errors than Sky with often the wrong cars being mentioned or things happening on screen that go unnoticed.
