I am considering switching to the be* network, for mega-super-fast-ultraband internet access, as its actually cheaper than my 2mb slowband. Are there any terrible reasons not to?
Thank ye.

None what so ever,

Their brilliant matey,

Dont ring them when you have problems, as most companies their call centers are off shore, but you can log a web ticket and they respond very quickly. Their excellent, i get a text from them when the bill is due, and also when they updated a problem ticket i had.

A+

Ween with them a couple of days, getting much better speeds than I did with ADSL1. Only problem is a disconnect at half nine at night every night. Not sure if it's them or not, but never happened before. Getting some new filters incase it's them.

I seem to get quite a few messages (emails and texts) about maintenance and possible downtime (infact I got another today), though my service has never been affected by it.

Apart from that, can't fault it.

Ive finally signed upto BE (10 minutes ago :D )

I was tired of being traffic shaped by BT , gits :(

been with Be* since January, no complaints here, plus they have a nice little forum if your stuck with any connection problems, tips and or require advice.

Only problem i had was a noisy line which in turn affected my ADSL2+ connection, ADSL2+ runs at a higher frequency than slower broadband and can easily be affected by these sorts of problems.

But after numerous phone calls and visits from BT they finally connected to a new set of wires, been cool and the gang ever since.

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,304 / 16,984 :D

Been with Be for 5 days, much faster than BT. I was getting 2-2.5 Mb, now getting 6-7.

The Be Forum is useful. I have a wired network and the 4th ethernet port is not set to internet. I have fixed this and also stopped my router replying to pings.

Have had no problems whatsoever with be. Great ISP.
Have also received texts warning about maintenance and possible downtime but have never lost connection or even noticed that anything was going on.

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:1,343 / 16,198

Edit: I also liked how they kept you informed every step of the way via email and text. Knew when account was approved. Knew when dates were set. Knew when they sent the modem. Knew when it was connected etc...

they are fast, dude. i just completed downloading 7.08GB on P2P within 1hour 20min

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,330 / 21,418
on Fastpath mode.

Have to say that Be* seem like a great ISP. Just wish they'd hurry up and enable my exchange! They keep pushing back the enablement date - according to their checker it should have been enabled last month :(

Blame BT, not Be*. That kind of work would be done by a BT engineer as it's their hardware.

I've got Be* at home. Internet service is excellent although I've found it is much improved by changing the BeBox to a DG834N. Wireless is far superior and connection is much more stable since. Can get an extra 1-2Mbps out of the connection too.

That's interesting, been toying with that change since I got the BEBox the other day.
