Beans on toast in a cafe, how much is reasonable to pay?

It's steel! You can see the silver!

If it is copper on the inside though and not lined please stop using it for tomato the acid can bring out some nasty stuff for you in them.

Don't worry, it's not copper on the inside.

And I am not going to describe it as my "Copper outer, stainless steel inner, brass handle mini pan" lol :p

You guys are lucky, I wish I could get a humble plate of beans on toast at my local cafe. The closest to it is ‘butter beans, Italian sausage, grana padano & salsa verde’ on sourdough toast. For £7.50. Glasgow has changed.

Give me a tin of beans, two slices of white bread toast, grated cheddar and a bottle of Worcestershire sauce!

you can buy a whole tin of Heinz beans for £1
loaf of bread is what £1-1.50?
an army cooker for £2-3
and just cook your own in the street.

anything over £3 way too high.

in reality they probably don't use Heinz beans but some crap brand thats like 50p a tin with a splash of ketchup inside it.

your probably getting 25pence worth of beans and about 30pence worth of bread so the total cost of your meal is like 60pence or something. (assuming half a tin of beans + 4 slices of bread) in reality you probably get 4 triangles

yea they have to make money for rent and wages but how many 1000% profit margins do they need on that item?

thats retail prices too, which they won't be paying

Wouldn't they need to sell at least 4anhour just to pay for one employee?

You're paying for the downtime too

your probably buying a drink and a cake or something at the same time. if it's an actual cafe

I doubt they would only be selling beans on toast anyway so they shouldn't have too worry about how many they are selling.

it should be the cheap option to attract customers then hit their wallets with cakes or expensive sounding coffees

Yes, cheapest beans I can find are Aldi and Tesco at 22p a can. Bread 49p a loaf. There may be cheaper.
