Bear Grylls.......

I like how some people have to constantly bring this up when EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS!. Seriously, he's making an entertainment show, which he does well. People like you need to get over it and move on!

if everyone already knows then why do people make posts in this thread that give the impression they think its real life endagering spur of the moment crazy madness? :D

Bear Grylls said:
Ah, look over there. We have a super rare, super dangerous 40 legged tarantula. This is the most poisonous thing ever.

*OMNOMNOM*
God damnit Bear, you eat the animals, we get it already!

Show us what posts gave you that impression? It's like you were wanting to say it as soon as you saw the thread title, irrespective of what was written in the thread.

Old, tired, cliché.

As said their very different, I prefer Ray he can whip up a 7 course meal in the jungle, Bear just eats crap and takes lots of risks.

Bravo.

if you need to survive while constantly running from the enemy bear would be better, but if you're just trying to survive until rescue Ray will keep you in better nick.

each have their own ways of presenting, each are good viewing IMO.

I remember enjoying a series called 'lost int he woods' or something, with another survival 'guru'

did anyone see Bear nearly falling off the side of a waterfall? I've been looking for it on the tube with no luck.

He was trying to cross a waterfall and was explaining how the worst thing in the world would be to fall hee.r.e......... and so he did.

Slid down the face of this rock and only just grabbed onto it with his finger tips, mission impossible style. That's the closest I've seen him coming to a very difficult situation for real.

Much prefer Ray Mears personally, his knowledge is incredible.

I also prefer his way of making the people who lived/live through such situations and environments the main focus, rather than Bear Grylls 'look at me, look at me' style.

Because some of the stuff he does could go wrong really easy. I watch him a bit, and while not a fan of his particularly, even with safety people it would be *very* easy to slip from the top of a cliff he is climbing with no rope (and the cliff face is soaked too) and kill himself for example.

It is fake in terms of he doesn't spend all his time out there, but he could easily get injured / die if he didn't time jumps or did something slightly wrong. I do feel worse for the camera man at times, and as said the show *is* fake in some things, but it don't mean he still while walking over ice fall through and die.

Couldn't resist :p
