Hi all, I grew a moustache in November (for movember) and its kind of evolved into a beard since then.

I've got an interview next Monday for an IT job, office based shirt and trousers environment.

I was wondering what people opinions are? its not a full on techie type beard, I trim it with a number 1 or 2 trimmer and shave it into shape on the cheeks and quite far up on the neck, so as beards go its very smart, short and shaped..

I actually think I look better with than without it, its kind of like this, but a bit more groomed, and my hair is a bit darker - http://ryanreynoldsgallery.com/wp-content/photos/orig_Ryan_Reynolds_Smokin_Aces.jpg

what do you think? shave or keep?

If it's not a Unix server nerd-esque beard, grow it into one. Also, socks and sandals to the interview.

On a serious note, I would shave before a job interview. Morbid fear of making the wrong impression when employment is on the line riddles my psyche.

Didnt Bill Gates and his friend all have hippy beard's back in the 60's when they were experimenting with drugs and making computers in the Garage

There are some horrid looking beards about.

Not just any run of the mill beard

I've have a similarish beard myself - 1-1.5cm. I like it and prefer myself with it.

I wouldn't even consider shaving it off for an interview. As long as you don't look like some kind of hobo, then leave it be.
