Been watching this for a while and it came out in early access last night. So much fun!

Anyone else given this a go yet? Really looking forward to when it gets an editor for people to import songs.

You do not need to install any mods to be able to play custom tracks on steam. Simply download the track, unzip and place here in your Beatsaber install directory - "Beat Saber/Beat Saber_Data/CustomLevels"

To install mods, download and run ModAssistant from here - https://github.com/Assistant/ModAssistant

Since PS is a closed platform, it’s basically impossible to implement custom songs, unfortunately. But we plan to release music packs regularly. :)

The custom tracks are unofficial, and vary wildly in quality. There are many recommendations for tracks throughout this thread.

Well it doesn't seem that difficult on normal difficulty; on my first try with the first song on normal difficulty I got a perfect combo the whole way through. It's definitely much more frenetic and satisfying than audioshield though. Haven't tried cranking the difficulty up yet.

Unfortunately at the moment there are only ten songs, but it's still great fun. I wonder whether the fact that each level has been hand crafted to fit each song improves the quality of the gameplay though, as opposed to using an algorithm to create the level for any song you like.

Can confirm that expert is much harder! And even normal is a fair bit harder on different songs, the first one must be easier.

Keep wanting to jump in for more games of this but other stuff keeps coming up :( I found hard is good enough that I can do well, but not quite 100% on most of the tracks so a perfect balance to keep it interesting. I tried expert and that just doesn't go well, usually the intro is fine, but as soon as the track kicks in I fail in seconds haha.

The dev said : "Custom songs are indeed on our roadmap but only after the we will release the level editor because we have no plans for auto generated levels."

Played for 45 minutes yesterday and according to my fitbit it logged me as doing aerobic exercise and burnt 450 calories :)

I'm glad no-one was there to watch me as I went mental trying to get some high scores. Hitting hard and wild follow through to try to get 100 plus points per hit :)

I had a proper windmill going at one point.

love that VR game controls can be so intuitive - no this button to crouch, this button is right hand, this shoulder button is the left arm
