my be settings are very different from my previous BT line settings due to Be having their own exhange equipment.

Whilst the be software did a good job of setting up the bebox I found quite a lot of default settings needed to be changed for my other router to work. You should be able to copy these from the bebox including any dns server names.

just as a update, i've been running tests with the Be guys through the ticket system and after running recent tracert tests results aren't so good, i'm seeing lots of spikes in my latency from 15/16ms up to 100ms which is whats causing me to feel like ingame it's not stable.

if this continues i will be changeing back to ukonlines adsl 8mb package

Do the 100ms pings happen within the Be network at all?

Most of the time I've seen below 20ms within Be's network although when playing on some game servers, there's been 500ms on the final hop

this is a tracert test i did the other day to the match server our team played on last sunday (bearing in mind it is a uk server) :

since this i've reported it to Be and today they say they have adjusted my SNR margin and hopefully it should resolve this issue, i'm currently at work so i can't test this until later this evening but i'l post back with the results.

Bold highlighted looks to be the first international hop. But having said that, 2000ms on the local exchange hop, damn thats bad (mind you, my exchange always times out lol)

ok re did the test to the same ip after Be have alleged to have fixed my line and here are the results :

thing is i think Be have disabled fastpath as my ingame latency has now risen again!

just a quick update, it must be a couple of weeks now since i replaced my bebox with an 834g, and the connection has been rock solid since both from an adsl perspective and a wi-fi perspective too. one happy customer over here!

now not getting any connection drops on my comp which is good, however still getting the spiking issue and download speed has suffered! if i do a speedtest it reports back usually between 6-8mb this is really disgusting as i was getting 14-15mb down before all the problems started!

might well change over to UKonline's upto 16mb connection.

So where do you think the problem lies and how would changing provider help?

well seeing as i never once had any problem with my BT line and got a 7-12ping on all uk servers, now i'm getting mid 20's with Be and stutters in game, i would say that lies with the isp?
