I don't understand how you can run a network cable directly from a BT master socket?network cable idea
I wish they'd start using some high quality network cable as it wouldn't matter if there was an extention then as it wouldn't loose you any speed
Good to know thanks!BT engineer who fitted my parents broadband used cat5e as an extension upstairs, works a charm.
If you want to move to a new router than i'd suggest the DG834GT as the wireless is much better than the Bebox and the latest firmware brings in some great stability to Be users. Fastpath also works perfectly with the new firmware so you'll be syncing closer to 17mb i would expect with the netgear![]()
Yes. They flashed my firmware and closed some open back doors as soon as my connection went live.
Don't you need the remote assistance option enabled for that?
See thats what i thought, this is the 3rd time its happened now :|
Sat at work and i can't vpn home!
No i havent really done anything on my bebox, just setup the port fowarding and disabled a few of the services, i need to go through and spend some time locking it down though but for the time being i'm not "that" fussed as my wrt54g sits behind the bebox and handles the actual network.
In actual fact, is there a ethernet modem i can use with my be line?
ok still having massive teething problems with this DG834GT, after flashing back to a older firmware (due to me getting random disconnects and lag spikes in game cs 1.6) i am now experiencing no disconnects but i'm still getting a random lag spike where my ingame ping/latency will go up to 150+ i get this probably 2-3times every 5mins!
what should i do? i'm thinking of trying the uberGT firmware but will it solve this problem?
i'l try those, i'm using 208.62.222.222 and 208.67.222.220
do you play any steam based games bobby? also which firmware are you using?
