BECOME AN OFFICIAL OcUK REVIEWER & WIN SAPPHIRE HD 5970, 5870, 5850 & 5770 GFX CARDS

The only problem with being outside the UK is shipping complications for review hardware. At this stage, the competition is open to all, but the judges may feel that it is important to be based in the UK.

I don't think there are any shipping complications to the Maltese Islands since its pretty close to England.

Any ideas as per my previous post on videos?

If you are feeling adventurous, you may wish to take a video “walk-around” of the product also!

I was going to do a mini unboxing video of the grfx card I just ordered

There's your answer then. Just a link will be fine.

I'm reviewing a keyboard, but have hit a bit of a wall.

In the guide it says not to express personal opinion in the 'review' section, but that's pretty hard when it's a keyboard? Would it be ok to use I here, just to talk about the comfort of the keyboard etc?

Cheers

I think the trick is to do something like this. Instead of saying:
"I immediately noticed that the keyboard seemed comfortable"
say something like:
"It was immediately apparent that the keyboard was comfortable"

I say put your opinions in there but make don't write them in the first person.

You have to write in the third person vernacular.

I had to do this at university whilst writing reviews on minerals and lots of interesting stuff. :D

Cheers, I've now re-worded it all. I thought it would be worth asking, it's a lot easier to stay away from first person on a graphics, but on a keyboard where it's so personal I actually found it really hard.

Just A Few Questions

So I’ve read all of the forum post about this and iv been left with a few questions so here i go;

How many 5770's are there exactly, as I’m sure sapphire has given you guys a limit??

How many reviewer positions are available as I’m sure you won’t just expect 1 person to be doing this??

Is there a wage along with this "job" or is the entire incentive just the hardware that’s free?? (Either way I’d still be very happy:D)

Would the selected reviewers be able to pick the hardware or software for that week up from the store or would they have to have it delivered??

Will the hardware that is reviewed be given to all the reviewers for example will there be 1 product per week for all reviewers or will there be a selection and therefore a different product for each reviewer??

Does the Users current system have any bearing on the competition??

Will Fonts and Formatting be part of the competition??

Thanks

TonkV8

I'd assume there would be as many positions available as there are 5770's. And since its plural, that makes 5 reviewers at least.
Wage hasn't been mentioned, so I assume its just that you get to keep the hardware.

From previous replies to the thread, it appears OcUK are shipping it out, so you don't need to go and collect it.

Again, I would assume you review what you're told to review, though the parts you are sent will depend on your current PC. No point being send the latest i7 CPU if you've only got a 775 socket motherboard.

ah that seems good then :) and i more ment would current system make a difference due to the fact that there would be no point in OcUK having 20 reviewers if they are all running on Intel systems and no one is running an AMD setup ...

And as im very lucky and live litrally a 5 minuet drive from OcUK it would be so much easier for me and probably some other members to go to the store and pickup myself but i sepose that could be discused at a later date between individuals and OcUK

Hi there mark, I think I would be in a great position to review ocuk hardware, I think I will enter. I have a slight advantage due to working at ocuk in the past so I know what to expect :D
