Beef Burgers....

It's BBQ season, of course the bloody shelves are empty! :p

This.

Plus I'm sure you will find some in Iceland, people who shop there will have quickly forgotten the horse meat thing and care more about getting a BBQ pack for £1.

The whole horse meat scandal went pretty quiet, I did see that there has been a lot of criticism about how long they are taking to investigate it.

Pretty certain that neither my local tesco, nor the aldi nearby, stock anything other than birdseye burgers.

Were you looking only in the frozen section?

My tiny Tesco Express store over the road has fresh own brand burgers and other meat products like meatballs and its not even a big shop.

I think the OP was hinting that they wanted the cheapest burgers you can get at the supermarket rather than prime burgers. You know the cheapo pack of 8 burgers for 89p or something. Christ knows what was in those, then again probably we do now know what was in them.

I got your original post Efour, and yep all them nasty cheap burgers have mysteriously disappeared off supermarket shelfs, I wonder what made that happen?

All I want to know now is how to find a place that sells the most famous burgers in TV land.

1. A Big Kahuna Burger
2. An Emperer Burger.

I never got why there was so much fuss over the whole 'horse-meat in beef' thing.

Horse meat is perfectly edible and based on a web-search, Horse mince is over £3 MORE per kilo so people were getting better value.

I've eaten horse and it's not much different to cow tbh.

However I used to go to my local butcher for "mainstream" meats but since the "scandal" he's lost my custom for how he handled it. He bought a banner stating "Only fools eat horses".

I made it a point to go in and let him know that I wouldn't be supporting his business any more if that's what he thought of his loyal customers. (the banner disappeared the following day)

I don't understand why you'd want to eat that over home made - but if that's what you want there are plenty of burgers at waitrose and sainsburys that are own brand from the butcher section and even in meat aisle.
