Beers of the World - Mk 5 *** RULES AND SIGNUP HERE ***

That was the original idea of the whole competition when it started many years ago.
With quite a small number of players this year and what seems to be double the amount of small craft breweries each year it's not too difficult to find a unique beer - I think there's only been 1 round so far where there were non-unique entries?

Yep and twice in the same round too.

Might have to restrict things a bit further in the future as its just too open.

Fruit being involved would mean the there is fruit in the ingredients.
Tasting notes saying hints of stone fruit would not be enough in my mind. Its not like there isn't much out there, pretty much every sour uses fruit for a start.

Yeah I could understand that actually too. I’d always assumed it was a fruit.

This, I would have allowed it. Tomato on the other hand will get you banned as tomato beer sounds wrong and I'm actively discouraging that sort of behaviour.

And seeing as its now too late to change your entry, I used chocolate/cocoa in the previous comp and that did not go down well with a lot of the others. I scored points but it was very risky. I'm not sure I'm that generous.

How to tell if its a fruit.
Does it go in a fruit salad? Yes? Then its a fruit.
Can you make a dessert from it? Yes? Then its a fruit.

I've now added the random bonus category for this week.
I'm away this coming weekend so will post the updates when I get home.

I feel you can still challenge for a top 3 finish @Feek if you start entering beer as I have no chance of guessing that many gins.

Anywhere on the label was discounted due to commonplace words like "trademark", but I'm curious as to the others as well. I have 2 very risky options :D.
@Bickaxe does Mark have to be in the beer name, or can we include brewery? What about anywhere on the label?

In the beer name only. A name that could easily be combined with other words, guess its a good thing my name isn't Trevor really.

It's pretty easy actually. Takes me about 30 mins every Sunday morning.
The spreadsheet is set up so it's just filling in the info for the beer. I've added extra columns for further data such as brewery, beer type, strength etc.. which I'll summarise at the end.

Don't chip any money in, I anyway have a fridge full of beer I keep forgetting about as I go to the pub.

I have friends over this weekend so results will be delayed until they have left.
