Sadly another attack in France from the usual peaceful crew. One woman beheaded and two others killed in or near one of the largest churches in Europe. RIP to those killed. It may be time to start carrying some kind of personal defence. What kind of weapon is legal here? A very small non-locking knife appears to be, but it's dodgy ground if there is no reason to carry it. What else?

Not surprised, it’ll only escalate from here. Such a peaceful religion. Unfortunately europe is full of insurgents and they were all freely let in. Offer prayers, change profile pictures blah blah blah.

It was always going to happen, especially after Macrons comments. Tbh it was going to happen anyway because they're murdering scum.

Look up legal carry knives. As far as I'm aware they have to be non-locking and the blade has to be less than three inches.

I don't think you can get into trouble for carrying those.

[It is illegal to] carry a knife in public without good reason, unless it has a folding blade with a cutting edge 3 inches long or less.

Barbarian's such as this are walking around with machetes because police are too scared to stop and search them due to political correctness, good luck protecting yourself with a 3 inch knife.

I don't know what else to call them, beheading is simply barbaric.

I don't particularly like Macron as a politician but I admire him for standing up for a secular society in France. Religion should be entirely personal and to be honest kept off the street.

What I really like is the way all the other liberal secular democracies spoke out in support of France and the scourge it faces when it's public servants are attacked for teaching free speech. Especially against the diplomatic backlash from a bunch of barely functioning near dictatorships.
It's the kind of moral backbone that defines this age...……. oh wait.

Macron was right, Islam is in crisis across the world because such a large number of them think it's acceptable to kill somebody for drawing cartoons. I genuinely feel sorry for the normal moderate Muslims that get tarred by all these lunatics

Maybe it's a period that needs to be gone through for Islam to modernise, in the same way that Christianity had to modernise from the medieval witch trials, etc. But I really do think that all muslims, including the genuinely peaceful average person, are going to be tarred with the same brush and hated by the rest of the world at this rate.

I think it's only the idiotic and ignorant who think Muslims are all terrorists. I would like to think most people don't think that and it's only the small minority.

And likely more will be radicalised. A knee jerk angry response would be to impose large restrictions on aspects of the community, but in many ways it’s counterproductive.

And yes, people forget about the crusades etc. I’m sure future society will look back on ours and think how barbaric it was in comparison.

All of those who supported mass uncontrolled immigration and accused those against it of racism/Islamopobia etc are largely to blame, if you vet those coming in you aren't going to have ISIS soldiers walking around in the streets. Even during lock down there are boatloads of young men crossing the channel. There's been 30-40 year olds with beards claiming to be teens attending schools that's how thorough our current vetting process is.

'Immigration control' are dirty words for many, when the fact is that it's needed. France and Germany are a right mess at the moment and incidences like this prove it. There's nothing wrong with controlling immigration and letting people in who can contribute positively to the country and economy.
