If they gave him the 5 second penalty on lap 1 he could still serve it on his first pitstop, learn the rules before getting all paranoid.

Thing is as well, we saw vettel do the right thing the lap before and pull out and go on the run off. Rosberg must have known he wasn't going to make that. He wasn't ahead, on the outside and had nowhere to go.
 
Yeah - but like I said, it shows really poor judgement. Vettel showed much better judgement in the same situation.

That's very different from him intentionally attempting to slice Hamilton's tyre which seems to be the suggestion from some.

Yeah, except it shouldn't have been a 5 second penalty for me, and Ted and Brundle....

Delaying it so long then making it a 5 second instead of longer which has the rule exemption just lets people make the excuse you made... but it wouldn't have mattered if they did it straight away to distract from the whole it shouldn't have been a 5 second penalty to begin with.
