I've had this conversation quite a lot. I think Charles has incredible talent, but very clearly seems to crack under pressure and make simple mistakes that cost him a lot. I'm hoping after this season and getting used to fighting for wins/the championship at some points he learns to handle pressure and stops these mistakes as he has a strong chance for WDC if he does and Ferrari can keep the car competitive/not balls up the strategy every other week.

I think he’s got the talent. Sure he will mature into it some more. Maybe too much pressure this year?

Nah, he's always been prone to stacking it from time to time. Which is why at the start of the year I thought Sainz would finish ahead of him in the championship. Obviously I seem to be wrong on that as Leclerc has been blistering quick and Sainz has struggled with these cars. I still maintain though in a close fight for a championship he would make too many mistakes.

Alfa Romeo doing an amazing job of developing the car this year. Mid to late 1:47s as the first efforts. Takes a lot of work to be this slow.

Nice to see Schumacher ahead of Magnussen (Although plenty of penalties to come for Mick) - but important to beat Kevin on pace, hoping he can kick on now for the 2nd part of the season

Normally better in race trim though, and the warmer weather may play into their hands too.

Sainz does have the pondscum Ferrari strategists to throw the spanner in the works though.

Looking at the time difference I wouldn't be too surprised to see Max ahead of both Mercs tomorrow
