question is though, was the quali performance of merc mostly down to tyre warm up issuees, or fundemental pace issues in the car? so could we see them have good tyre life tomorrow and hold on to a couple of podium spots... or at least close to them. reliablilty and consistency is still looknig quite good for them. Assuming max does not come and lap tham all that is :p
quali was not that exciting, to predictable but I think the race should be interistering.
Cant seem them going from near race winning pace to 2 seconds down over a break where everyone went on holiday.

Has to do with the tyres

Thing with these crappy new cars is there seems to be such a difference from track to track. Every chance they’re dog slow today, also.

I’m hoping you’re right though.

Why is it so hard finding speed trap data these days? Unless I am missing something obvious.

Because F1 is as incompetent as the Ferrari strategists.

I really used to enjoy watching the race on a large screen and having the sector and lap time data on another screen. It annoyed the hell of my gf as I used to keep mentioning things before the commentators picked up on it. Then F1 redeveloped the app and for a while removed live timings, then hid them behind a paywall etc..

Now even with F1TV I don't get the same data as I did previously.

RB seem to have a more consistent car though. When they're off the pace, they're still pretty close, but when they're on it, they're hard to beat. Probably the best overall package this season.

I wish Sky would give it a rest on the Alonso/Ricciardo/Piastri stuff - how often do we need to see the same interview/chat over a race weekend, its utterly tedious.
To be honest I got fed up of most of Skys F1 output long ago, I switch on about 25-30 mins before the race now.

Only 2 more seasons hopefully till their monopoly ends and we can get the Streaming service as an option (without VPN shenanigans ;))

As much as I like to see any driver win starting further down the grid, I think Max would need quite a bit of luck today and few things go his way, safety at right moment etc. Think a lot will depend how good a start he has and avoiding any contact in the middle of the pack in first few corners.

We're meeting few friends at 2pm so will have to wait for highlights to watch the race.

e: They're running late so might watch first few laps

I doubt F1 TV Pro will actually end up being offered over here, Sky will probably just fire more money at them to make sure its not, I struggle even with the VPN shenanigans to get it working most of the time!

I've seen Ric get asked the same questions by at least 4 different interviewers, not to mention the episodes where they discuss the same stupid things. Must really be low on content to keep pumping out the same rubbish.

I don't remember it being this bad before, running out of extra content as you say likely. I have to admit I also prefer it when its Simon Lazenby presenting with Hill and Herbert, Di Resta does my nut

Medium-Soft-Medium
I really hope this is the main strategy, it's always miserable when the hards come out.

Edit: Albon just seems like a nice person. I hope he gets a points finish today, although it's pretty unlikely.
