I will look around but dead pixels is something I am not prepared to live with. I bought a monitor from an unamed etailer which had 6 dead sub pixels in various obvious locations in the screen and I was told it was acceptable when it just wasnt. There wasnt a lot I could do but pay the 25% surcharge to return it. I went back to using my CRT for a bit untill I could get a guaranteed good one.

Unfortunately not many manufacturers guarantee against dead pixels. Xerox (only for OCUK) and Viewsonic offer a zero dead pixel warranty but this only covers completely dead pixels (ie pixels stuck on either white or black)

Most TFT panels are shipped in conformance with ISO 13406-2 (Class II). This allows 3 white dead pixels, 3 black dead pixels and 7 sub pixels for a 17-19" screen (1280x1024) and 4 white dead pixels, 4 black dead pixels and 10 sub pixels for a 20" screen (1600x1200)

Sometimes if you are unlucky enough to have a sub pixel you can massage it into life. Playing fast paced video can also help

Its in my basket but im still unsure. I am really unlucky when it comes to these things. I find a stuck sub pixel to be more irritating than a pixel

Read on Behardware that Belinea will replace any TFt with four faults of any kind wheather it be dead pixel or sub pixel

I measured the pixel response at 15ms with the test which I suppose is entirely consistant with the 8ms GTG panel rating.[/QUOTE said:
How did you measure this then? Hardware or software? If its software what did you use?

Thanks.

It's called "lcdtest.exe" and it's available in the Monitor Review package from the review sticky

You adjust the flashing boxes until they are both flashing in sync with one another

I was looking at this moniter for gaming / home entertainment but wasn't that sure about the make, the way i see it there must be some problems for a moniter that big and that cheap.

only that Belinea have always made budget models really, and build quality and materials is not always the best. However, they have used a top notch panel in this model :)

I'm about to return a Dell 2005FPW party because the ghosting/motion blur is to noticeable for me.... Would this monitor offer any real noticable improvement in games ?

Hi, can you post an image with the resolution at 1650x1080 on the desktop and in a game - on your original image the icons look too big for it? i dunno.

Oh, and are the speakers removable?

It should do as it's a faster panel

I'd read the reviews though and see what latency results the panel gets

Well I hope this monitor scales well as I cant see my 256MB 7800 GTX being able to play F.E.A.R at 1680 x 1050

hi, i have been after a 20.1" TFT for some time now but one with a 1600x1200 resolution, now i know this monitor is a wide screen TFT so does not go upto this res, but can anyone tell me do many games support the max res this monitor can support. I.E 1680 x 1050? as the main reason for the monitor will be for gaming, and the price is great for this particular monitor.

Any help would be much appreciated.
