[Benchmark3D] Microstutter Case Study: Skyrim

Batman was smooths as a babys bum on my gtx 570. These tests were probably done before the dx11 stutter patch that solved the stuttering. Some of these results are certainly questionable.

:D

Source? I wouldn't mind reading that.

The Kepler thing came from here http://techreport.com/review/22653/nvidia-geforce-gtx-680-graphics-processor-reviewed/9

Lots of trouble, when we look at the time spent on long-latency frames. What happened to the GTX 680? Well, look up at the plots above, and you'll see that, very early in our test run, there was a frame that took nearly 180 ms to produce—nearly a fifth of a second. As we played the game, we experienced this wait as a brief but total interruption in gameplay. That stutter, plus a few other shorter ones, contributed to the 680's poor showing here. Turns out we ran into this problem with the GTX 680 in four of our five test runs, each time early in the run and each time lasting about 180 ms. Nvidia tells us the slowdown is the result of a problem with its GPU Boost mechanism that will be fixed in an upcoming driver update.
The Fermi was pulled from the same anand forum post.

Pretty desperate attempt at making Nvidia look poor. The tests were done on March 22nd 2012.

Why would you drag something up that is almost a year old? :( I should have known it was that old.

Not at all, how do we know that was fixed? It may well have been.

All i'm saying is there is vast attention being paid to micro-stutter so far found in a couple of game on the Radeon GPU's

Microstutter will appear in different games at different times on both Radeon and Nvidia GPU's.

AMD have had a pretty good shake-up of their drivers resulting in 12.11, and they are still at this point in development stage, there are bound to be issues where there have not been issues before, as you can see from the link earlier on they were 'at least' equal to Nvidia for frame latency, if not a little better in those games.

This being brought to light is a good thing for us, we end up with smoother game play as a result of it.
But i think a trick would be missed if a good solid level of attention to this was to be overlooked in Nvidia GPU's. :)

Butter it up all you want, I find it desperate when you have to dig up a year old report. You are the quickest to jump on anyone who dares link a Vs benchmark that doesn't use the 12.11 drivers (and rightly so). Poor effort and deeply disappointing to see you cling to such a report.

No trick would be missed unless you are that wanting for Nvidia owners to have issues because TR found a small error with 12.11 drivers.

Desperate trolling is all I can see tbph. I expected better from you :(

With that attitude you will always be at loggerheads, which is very unfortunate.

You purposefully went looking for anything you could get on Nvidia. You know I was right and hence "/end"

What does it for me is, nobody here has mentioned the latency issue on the 7xxx cards, so it isn't a problem I would give much notice to. Some AMD users say now they know about it, they can see it but others still can't see it.

It isn't a problem, the same as the stutter bug on the 6 series wasn't a problem and will be easily fixed, like the 6 series was easily fixed.

With the internet, we can find a problem with anything if we look hard enough and then quote it and before you know it, it is a massive problem. I could look for GPU's that blow up/drivers that never work/monitors that are not GPU friendly/people who eat pot noodles.

My point being, look hard enough and you can find anything you want to on the net. Don't look for an issue to try and make yourself look good.
