Benitez unleashes on Ferguson

More facsssssh from Rafa today. I've never seen him do anything like this, ever. He's looking more silly day by day.

He needs to let it go now. It shows just how paranoid and bitter he is if he has such a dossier on Utd & The Management and the Chief Exec and continually needs to spout on about it.

Where was he to criticse Arsenal when David Dein was at the FA and at Arsenal. Is he now suggesting that the people who are in charge of the FA are not affiliated to our clubs. He must have a complete misunderstanding of a few of the Facts on how the FA is run

1 vote 1 club therefore everyone regardless of if your at the foot div 2 or at the top of the prem has the same voting rights on electing committees including Gill's position within the FA. Also isn't Rick Parry on a lot of committees at the FA. In that case if Gill's position and integrity is in question then so should Rick Parry's.

People in glass houses and all that.

Apart from the fact everyone knows parry id utds most powerful weapon :p

I think Banitez is trying to suggest that maybe Gill's word carries more weight at the FA than representatives of other clubs. I would just say that good work on the part of utd, maybe Liverpool should think about hiring someone better. I'm a Liverpool fan and I have no time for parry. I agree, I think Rafa should shut up now before he back himself into a corner.

I think he has already done it :D
I don't think so. I think he has a valid point, in that Ferguson dose get preferential treatment. I just don’t think you can blame Gill for making that happen, it's his job to have utds best intrests at heart after all. Rafa made his point and he should leave it at that.

RAFA Benitez has followed up his rant at Sir Alex Ferguson by questioning David Gill’s dual role as Manchester United chief executive as well as FA decision maker.

Gill has been on the FA board since replacing David Dein 30 months ago and is highly regarded.

Benitez, who will have a third operation to remove kidney stones on Wednesday, alleged that United had influenced how their fixture list was drawn up and that the FA were lenient in disciplining Ferguson.

Talking about Gill, who is also on the FA World Cup board bidding for the 2018 tournament, Benitez said: “It’s another fact. So maybe we will talk in another press conference about facts.

“One fact is that a person that has a lot of power and control and is on a lot of committees is in the FA. So, something is very strange.”

Benitez is ready to meet Ferguson face to face following his fierce criticism of him and says he has got massive support from fellow managers.

Benitez is fed up of Ferguson’s attacks on Liverpool, and is not afraid of getting the infamous hair-dryer treatment.

He said: “Would I meet Mr Ferguson face to face? I don’t have any problem.

“I have a lot of respect for him as a good manager. If he wants to talk about the weather we can talk about the weather.

“I don’t need to put pressure on Manchester United. They are under pressure, they know they are, because when you talk too much about another team that means you are under pressure. I need to change my mobile phone because it is blocked with messages.

“Are they from managers? I can’t talk to you about what they have said to me.

“It was the right moment for me to say these things about Mr Ferguson.

“Mr Ferguson was talking too much about Liverpool and for too long a time so I think it was the right moment to say, ‘enough is enough’.

“And a lot of people think the facts I put on the table were right. We will wait and see what happens now.

“If Mr Ferguson continues saying things, OK, maybe we will have to look for more facts and maybe in 22 years we have a lot of facts. It is a situation that he has created.”

:D :D

Viva Rafa! And all these facts are shown to be a bit ludicrous.

I think he has a valid point, in that Ferguson dose get preferential treatment.

Other managers this year received a small fine and no touchline ban for having a go at a ref, Fergie got a £10k fine and was sent to the stands for two games and we could go for days into the inconsistencies shown by the FA when it comes to disciplining players. We always come worse off than other clubs with heavier fines and longer bans.

But keep it coming Rafa, the more you bleat, the more us United fans will enjoy tonking you come may!;)

Bit stupid then for Rafa to come out with " SAF never gets banned" when in fact he has only just come back from a couple of games in the stands.....

just one "fact" that was wrong

Its also strange how he tries to take on the guy who is legendary for his mind games with such an obviously scripted "rant" just before a pretty crucial away game for his players (not after his team got the three points from relegation candidates).

Either way it completely back fired on him, so he should seriously consider the timing of what he says as much as what he says :D

Since November:

Liverpool = LWWDDWWD (14 pts)

Man Utd = WDWWDWWW (20 points)

Fact!

And thank God that David Gill only gave Evra a small ban there, they were talking about a bigger ban until David Gill told them all no.

They were considering deporting him at one stage, along with that naughty little winker that drives like Michael Gambon who has the temerity to be kicked by brave british defenders but David said 'No! I'm not going to let you do that to my boys!' and spat his dummy out. Rick Parry, who's also on many FA commitees fact fans, was enquiring about the death sentence.

So Gill being on the FA board isn't a conflict of interests?

Since when has Parry been on any FA commitees/boards?

You'll never get Mancs to accept that. Near enough everybody else (including several ex-officials) can see that Fergie gets away with 99% of his abuse towards officials. Whenever Utd drop points (and quite often when they don't) Fergie blames the officials and it's even rubbed off on Utd's fans too.

Don't forget that Benitez has a dossier on absolutely everything. A few times in the past he's stated 'facts' like these that make even the best statistician fans in the country look stupid in comparison.

I reckon he was just looking for a way to make Ferguson play fewer mind games, perhaps because he knows Ferguson gets his players to play a lot better by using them. Benitez always talks about 'his' team and the need for them to work hard and concentrate on the next game. He had probably identified Ferguson's games as a source for disturbing this ethos.

I reckon it might work - Ferguson should certainly think twice before spouting off crazily in future.

yep, like the fact that ferguson never gets punished by the fa? or the fact that ferguson got a 2 game ban and a 10k fine? it does make most staticians mind boggle indeed.

No, since every club in the FA gets a vote on these things. If it wasn't Gill, it would be someone from another club. He was probably nominated as he's demonstrated great organisational ability and has a lot of experience dealing with, G14 clubs, UEFA, FIFA, Sky, et al.Didn't that executive from Arsenal used to be on the FA board too? Were liverpool fans calling for his head as well?

And if a ref's made a ****-up, I've no problem with the manager of my team calling him up on it. We got knocked out of last years FA Cup due to a ref's blunder. Heck even yesterday we had 2 perfectly good goals and 2 penalty decisions (The first was a certainty, the Cole handball was tougher to call) turned down but luckily it didn't affect the outcome.

lol, it is good that liverpool fans can be so clear headed and correct while only united fans succumb to bias. :p

not sure on the voting structure of the fa there Baz?

I'm not with you... which part of my post are you saying 'yep' in (assumably sarcastic) agreement to?

Nor will you ever get the Skaus to accept that they aren't as white as they make themselves out to be. Remember it's only Wayne Rooney who swears at referees. You never see Saint Stevie or Carragher having a go at ref's (/sarcasm) You only ever see Fergie having a go at refs and linesmen and officials. Never did I see Phil Thompson do it when he was assistant manager under Houllier (/sarcasm).

Benitez is fast becoming like his captain a ******* hypocrite!!!!!!!!!

One week he bleats on about better consistency from ref's but oops I shouldn't say that about officials in case I get my wrists slapped. Then on the other he has a go at Fergie for doing what he would oh so like to do. Either grow a set, have a go at the officials and take the punishment like Fergie has done in the past or get your own house in order and STFU !!!!
