BenQ XL2420T Now available

I don't use the gaming presets, and in the Standard Mode that I use the Black Equaliser is greyed out, although I do think it's enabled. (the same goes for Dynamic Contrast) So far I am very satisfied with this monitor.

Greyed out as in you can't enable certain settings in certain modes? Seems odd.

I think for a gaming enthusiast the XL2420T is probably better, just and only because it has been made with the help and input of gamers. It's focused on nothing but gaming and gaming alone really.

You really think those retired cs players helped them make this? Please lol. It's all marketing.

Hmm just realized I won't be able to have both my hazro and the benQ hooked up on my single 6970 as they both use dual link dvi. :/

How else would this guy http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18331050 run his setup?

He uses AMD cards. On AMD cards, all displays have to be connected to the same card, even in like, quad Crossfire. With an AMD card with 6 Mini-DP connectors, you can connect 6 120Hz screens.

Edit: he even has 5 120Hz screens now. http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=21082131&postcount=66

I know it can be run but what I didn't know is that you could run things like 1600p monitors and true 120hz monitors efficiently through it. I've never had the need to use a displayport cable before.

No mate I didn't. How do I go about sending it back under DSR?

They probably won't take it back with only 1 dead pixel but you can return it for any reason within 7 days of delivery with DSR. So just ring them up and organise a collection or something. But you will have to pay for the return postage yourself most likely.

Hi Everyone,

If your not considering 3D whatsoever, is there any benefit of getting this over say...

a Dell Ultrasharp U2412m? or U2410? or maybe even the predecessor? the XL2410T?

Many Thanks

Most people don't care about 3d and buy it for the 120hz.

Edit* And the old model had lots of problems and is pretty much ther same price as the new model so I would't bother. If all you're after is picture quality go for the ips.

Really impressed with this monitor so far. It can't stand up to my hazro in pure image quality but it's damn impressive for a TN panel. Out of the box it seriously looks like dog **** but after a fiddle around with the settings I've got it looking pretty damn nice right now. I'm not sure but it also seemed to look a hell of a lot better after about 30mins of being switched on.. Do TN panels have a "warming up period" of something? Can't say I've noticed on other monitors but it just seemed to look so much better after.

Only gripe is the fact that I got sent a French version of the product so the box was all in French and I got sent the wrong power lead. Luckily I have spares lying about so it wasn't much of a problem.

Glad to hear you like it. Tried any of the FPS modes (the ones that make you go blind) yet?

Tried them all and they all look like crap lol.

I've come across a problem/potential bug though. When I have the benq hooked up along with my hazro I can't have it set to 120hz, otherwise it flickers like crazy and turns itself on and off randomly.

Are any of you using a displayport with the this monitor? And if you have a display port can you do me a favour and try using it with 120hz and see if you get flickering please?
