BenQ XL2730Z Freesync Owners Thread

Exactly. I was under the impression that G-sync only worked within a certain FPS range. Anywhere outside of that and it will not function. Which is the same as FreeSync.

The LG 34UM67 (2560x1080) and Samsung UE850 (4K) both have a minimum refresh rate of 40 Hz while the BenQ XL2730Z (2560x1440) has a minimum refresh rate of 30 Hz.

This may completely change the relevance of refresh rates when looking to buy a new monitor. Minimum refresh rate may become a more important number than maximum refresh rate, especially at higher resolutions.

Found that quote from another forum but I am unsure how true it is.

They are the correct operating ranges. The BenQ runs down to 30Hz with FreeSync.

That is great news, I was playing Arma 3 and had some dips to 33-35 frames when playing Overpoch. This monitor has improved my gaming experience, freesync will only make it better.

Just made the plunge!

Can't resist a sale! its a good job that for everything else there's mastercard. Just have to pay it offf on tuesday instead!

*left a comment in customer service thread ended up having to pay for 2 day delivery but not going to argue over £2.40 extra.

You will not regret your purchase, trust me.

I really am tempted by this monitor but the whole being locked to one vendor is meeeeh.

Im also a little concerned about ghosting reports on this monitor, and the minimum frame rate that FreeSync works on the monitor is quite high (40 fps, Right?) I only have a single 290 so frames dipping into 40 FPS is quite realistic and even very common in some games (like arma 3).

The positives are quite obvious, but for £500 there are a few negatives. Do the positives heavily outweigh the negatives?

With Freesync/G-Sync or not, below 40FPS feels rough. But above 40fps with Freesync/G-Sync feels amazing.

Plus with Arma 3, its very CPU intensive. You will have a rough gaming experience regardless of you setup (GPU, Monitor etc).

This thread.... its regarding the Benq XL2730Z, yet there is a tone of talking about G-Sync.

If you want a G-Sync/Freesync flame i believe there is a thread under the GPU section.

That easter sale! OCuK you ******* :D

In regards the this monitors lower Hz level, I believe if you are going to buy this monitor then you should at least have the hardware to cope.

Just moved to x99, time to get using this monitor as I should be!

What is the best online games to play now days, I have been out of touch for last few months.

Sad times

I love this monitor, it is truly amazing. I have moved to a 980Ti so I am now reluctantly putting it up for sale as I need Gsync.

Should just get a Fury X scramz amazing monitor is already in place.

I did wait mate, when they was released I decided to switch. Got a bit bored of AMD. Don't get me wrong I am not bashing AMD I like them, just fancied a try with Nvidia. I seems to had less issues with them in the past.

I may come back to AMD on the next gen.

I have boxed this monitor up sitting in the corner now I have a Gsync. I will eBay it when I get a chance.
