I'm not convinced that Hargreaves is a better DM than Gerrard. Hargreaves doesn't have the same range of passing - admittedly less important in that position - and his tackling is no better than Gerrards (remember the first game he came on as sub in the WC? Gave away loads of freekicks, and he was playing better than usual). The one thing he does have, is an incredible engine and workrate, he will hustle and redknapp the opposition until he is blue in the face. I've always said he is an average player (back when everyone hated him) who tries to make up for his lack of genuine talent with effort.

Given the choice, I'd rather see Parker get given a try than Hargreaves. And that's for England, not the World :)

Rooney Henry

Ronaldo and Rooney are my first names down on the teamsheet.
 
sissoko for me is not a choice, maybe in coouple of years but not at current time.

seems like mpost people have gone for cannavaro/ zambrotta in defence which isn't a surprise, plus ronaldinho/ henry,
problem is there not so many great wingers as central midfielders (bit like chelsea in a way)

I would love to see a game with the likes of these playing agaisnt each other, for charity maybe, the best players in world make two teams :p
 
I've seen such matches before, in fact I remember watching Europe play the World not so long ago. I think the final score was 6-3 to the World with Henri Camara scoring a hatrick, something like that. On paper Europe had a much better squad though.

Was a pretty rubbish match even when both teams had 'proper' sides out.

Aye there was also Socceraid when Maradona played back in May. That was more legends though i guess

Think that was something like 3-1 to Europe or something

yeah those matches are rubbish, theres a mix of old and new players and other sportsstars (M schumacher) and theres about 30 subs and referees sub jsut getting players on the pitch really
