BEST ADVENTURE GAMES - RECOMMEND LIST

The word "adventure" has a wide meaning. I would call the Thief Games 'adventure' games to an extent, and MMOs certainly have a huge amount of adventure to them.

In the traditional 'point and click' style of adventure, Grim Fandango cannot be recommended enough.

Been playing black mirror 2 on and off for 2 days now, usually into the early hours!. It is incredible and goes beyond black mirror 1. It's got an awesome storyline, puzzles which you can skip, dark horror vibe, amazing graphical detail for an adventure and the characters really set the scene. You can even die in the game which is rare for an adventure!.

I gotta say this is bordering on Broken Sword greatness but more evil :D, even the music adds to the creepyness.

So if you get the chance get both of the games in the series as they do follow each other, i can't wait till Black Mirror 3

I was just coming on to ask for recommendations for new adventure games since Broken Sword 4 as the wife and I love them. :D

Legend of Kyrandia, isn't that Amiga only? Had it on my a1200 but didn't know if it was on PC as well.

Also had Sanitarium on disc but lent it to a friend then he left the job and never saw it again, same with my Commandos series :(

Wasn't there a game due out around now that looked very Syberia?

I've been playing Bloodnet recently.

Zero instructions, you're a cyborg bitten by a vampire and have to go into cyberspace... for some reason. I still havn't figured it out, it also has the longest ass intro to a game I've ever played.

Bloodnet

Completed Black Mirror 2, INCREDIBLE game kept me engrossed so much so even bfbc2 was put aside. The ending was bloody awful however the reason for this is the continuation into Black Mirror 3 due next month.

I seriously rate this game above there with the classics! :D

This sounds very promising Neil, only problem I have is where to find the best place to buy them? Is there another alternative to GoG that stocks this game? I'm seriously looking forward to playing these games :)

Big Tex

Some worthy games to add:

The Tex Murphy series, haven't played the very early first two but when it moved to FMV played them all:

No idea how to embedde a youtube video!

The thing that stands out for me in these games is the acting and most of the dialog. The acting is top class, with some people playing roles that you will recognize.

It also has a sort of comedy thread running throughout the series and I actually have found myself laughing out loud while playing this... could be my warped sense of humour though.

The puzzles can get very tricky at times(like most good adventures), and you will browse the web once or twice ;)

I find the stories very entertaining too.

Very different style of adventure, but sertainly worth a look. The pack is going extremely cheap at GoG.com too, so nice timing by me ;)

I have more to add...
