BEST ADVENTURE GAMES - RECOMMEND LIST

Does anyone else remember Infocom?

The text adventures? I had a Z-machine interpreter and a few public domain games for my old Acorn Archimedes back in the day. Played a few through but none really grabbed me. I should probably give them another try now I have an actual attention span :D

Didn't have time to read the whole thread but I enjoyed Gobliiins and Discworld. Gobliiins is available on GOG I think.

Pretty much anything supported by SCUMMVM is worth a play!

'The Moment of Silence' mentioned on the first page of this thread looks quite interesting, and I was going to look at buying a copy... until I found out the game uses Starforce, and won't work on Windows 7 as a result (even if you update their protection driver, because the game's exe needs updating by the developer aswell). Great. :(

Two great adventure games for 75p ffs, what are you waiting for?

Downloaded it for the sake of downloading it :D. Thanks, looks like a decent game and it looks like it has references out the arse!

Edit: Just found out they used to be free, I feel robbed :D.

PLayed one sherlock holmes game, spent weeks trying to get past 1 point, even went through guides and forums looking for help. I eventally gave up and presumed i had bugged out.

The two Syberia and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey are two great games to look at aswell

Conquests of the Longbow was always my favourite Sierra one:

Dreamweb was great as well, and quite different due to the top-down view and more serious approach:

Rise of the Dragon and Heart and China were also fun:
