Best and Worst Console Pads Ever

Best : Ps2 / 360

Worst : 3DO / Jag

The 360 pads analouge section is fantastic but the d-pad on it is still rubbish and so are the buttons. Ps2 pad has the best buttons and d-pad.
 
The best has to be the 360 - feels really nice and a good weight to it. The N64 controller also worked well, despite looking and feeling a bit like it was made from Duplo and Playmobil parts.

Having recently bought a Megadrive again I have to say that I'd never realised just how light and chunky the pads were/are i.e. flimsy, so I'd have to say that was the worst I'd used myself. The NES pads were great, even though my right thumb sometimes locks straight from making Mario run all the time all those years ago.
 
Best Joypad - 360 Wireless

Best would be the 360 for me - a great improvement on the xbox which i never really liked.

The dualshock would be great if they changed the shoulder buttons for triggers. The sticks feel good but analogue accelleration via button pressure just doesnt do it for me.

The 360 wirelless pad is becoming universily known as the best pad ever.

Please tell me you meant best and not worst :confused:
 
the 360 controllers are perfection imo. they suit a wide range of hand sizes and fixed the awful placement of the black and white buttons on the xbox 's' pad.

People said the playstations pads were perfection when they were released, but i found they dont suit people with bigger hands at all. Like me lol.


worst pad. hmm. yeah gotta be the nes pad.

worth a mention:

n64 pad. Revolutionary and worked very well.
the megadrive 6 button pad. comfy

I couldn't agree more. Hurts just thinking about it. And the saturn 3d pad....WTF were they thinking?

i dont quite know how you can call a PS controller innovative. the N64 and GCN controllers are innovative. all buttons are ridiculously easy to reach (although the 64's had awful build quality)
 
As I said before, I'd put the 360 at the top of the list, but its not perfection. Ergonomically its good, but the build quality (speficially the D-Pad) is dodgy. I'm constantly trying to scroll down the friends list and finding it jumping into "last met" list because the "right" button gets hit all the time. I'd hate to play a game where the Dpad was crucial to gameplay.

Nope I meant worst. I havn't played it, and at the moment my worst ever pad is the original XBox pad...so it follows until I've played it that it *could* be a new contender for worst.

Sorry, but that is utterly ridiculous thinking.

Firstly you are judging it without trying it, secondly its nothing like the original Xbox pad so it dosnt "follow" at all.
