Best B450 mobo for Ryzen 3600?

Another one that is on my radar is the ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS which I can get for £165 which is a good price considering most places sell it for a lot more.

I am thinking if I got for a X570 it might be worth it in the longer run for my secondary PC as I can much later on stick a 12 core or even more in it for dirt cheap in 3-5 years when everyone is offloading them on members market :p

What's your plans with the 3600 and Carbon AC easy? :)

TUF is 400 amps across vcore, Gaming X is 600amps . Both budget ways of doing it , but least handle some volts and cores.

Not done research into Mobo's since like 2013 so a bit rusty. I think what put me off the Gigabyte X is the audio codec it uses. Even the AC Carbon has a much better one.

I do not plan on overclocking the CPU so I do not think the extra amps would come in handy. I am guessing either of these mobo's would run a 12 core easily in the future if I went down that route?

Will likely wait for the B550's and see what they have to offer as these low end X570 seem like they offer less things just so they can segment and expand their range.

Edit: The other option is Aorus X570 AORUS ELITE at £189.99. But I might just wait for black friday and hope things go on sale :)

Thanks for all the help guys. Pulled the trigger on:

Ryzen 3600
Aorus X570 AORUS ELITE
Corsair 16gb 3200MHz CL16 RAM

Total came to just shy of £445

In the end I thought with this mobo I have the option of plonking in a cheap 4900X or something in 3-4 years time and it is a better mobo to have in the meantime.

Was going to wait until B550 or Black Friday but could not resist the Aorus X570 AORUS Elite at under £190 as everywhere else have it priced a lot higher.
 
I'm running a Gigabyte B450 Aorus M(mATX) and with the F40 bios i was able to, with no sweat, beat the best 3600 score in the r20 bench thread when i put it together. Now of course this is mainly due to me being a bit lucky with my 3600 (non x) but still the board works without issues and the PCIe layout is good for those of us who run a dedicated sound card/other pcie plugin card and don't want the air to the gpu to be blocked off. VRMs are cool, never see them above 40c during gaming or stress testing. This is however with a small heatsink fitted to the naked vrms that sit at the top of the board but thats it and its just some random junk i used from my MK-26 gpu heatsink.

When i bought the board with a r5 2600 i was disappointed with it but now with a zen 2 cpu in it, its a whole other story.

What settings did you tweak to get that? i'm certainly not versed that well yet in Ryzen overclocking/tweaking so any assistance would be appreciated.
Nothing special at all. Just lowered vcore in ryzen master and set all cores to the same, everything on default in mobo settings.

I have found that there is huge amount of temp increase with higher vcore. For my 4.4GHz I did my test on 1.25v. Same with the 4,5GHz but that one could only manage the single core test. Soon as I run the multi core test it crashed. Lol. Not enough voltage I guess.

Sounds like the same as what i noticed. I got higher scores in r15 the lower the voltage. The second I tried r20 with lower voltages everything went to ****. So certainly not AVX stable at these lower voltages.

I did the same test today and managed to get the all cores working fine to pass Cinebench at 4.5GHz. It crashed at 1.3v, but worked fine at 1.325v. So yeah, definitely needed more voltage :p

Got my single thread on cinebench r20 to 520 pts now. I think I could push more, but I know I cannot be too far away from the limits of this chip and do not want to pump in anymore volts as I am not under water. Using BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 :)

I think your chip is a golden one or at least very close to be one. I myself is using a Cryorig r1 ultimate.

Yeah. I went from thinking I had a dud as I had crashes when I first put it all together which turned out to be due to one stick of the ram to ending up being a golden one :D

What a nice surprise. That said, even if my chip is only mediocre i'm still very happy with the performance at 4,3. I actually took it down to 4,275 and was able to drop the voltage from 1,425 to 1.381 and performance is exactly the same.

Yeah, that is still a good clock. As long as you have decent cooling and fan profile then it’s all good.

I do love running mine at 4.2GHz and at 1.15v. Hardly any heat at all, runs so cool. If I ever need a bit more performance I then go to my 4.4GHz profile :D
