I cant believe this,

MY pc room is the box room at the front of the house, i saw a big white DPD van pull up so I just sat there watching the guy delivering my new shiney toy through the window.

He takes 4 boxes out of the front and "chucks them on the floor" its raining as well to make it even worse. At this point my heart flutters, my 5850 could be one of those. He then proceeds to kick them to the rear of the van, then i can hear through the double glazing 4 thuds as he lobs them in one at a time.

Then i hear and observe a thud on the floor (turns out to be my box) and he kicks it back along to the front of the vehicle, collects the slip i need to sign and rings on my door.

I make a comment which he ignores and walks off.

If this doesn't work for any reason lol i want my money back :p

PS: Cool story bro

it would be pretty hard to plug in the card on the front door - the outer box is "bashed" im hoping the inner package + padding done its job.

Can't you sign for it received but unchecked or something like that...

City Link are the best, although I have never had a problem with any courier. :)

Obviously not plug everything in, if there is visible damage to packaging you should refuse or at least sign stating that the packaging is damaged otherwise the courier will just tell you to FO if you try and claim.

Just had a DHL man come and pick up a delivery from ours, he mus thave dropped the receipt in a puddle as its just a mess of wet paper haha... on the radiator it goes.

Did you put a comment that the box is damaged?

Contrary ti popular belief, most of the time you cannot do this since there is barely enough on the electronic screens to write your signature. (Or if you use UPS, which I do every week, you have to put an insane amount of pressure on the screen to sign at all). You are also signing to say that it is correct, not damaged and perfectly ok and that the courier has done their job. It makes no difference if you write 'damaged' since you should inspect the goods first if the packaging is damaged.

I sign everything as 'not checked' if the package looks undamaged, and make a note of it if it is. I don't know if it makes any difference legally but it makes me feel better. :)

well seems ok so i got lucky.

In future tho yes i should also be more careful when signing that tiny screen.

I'm always dubious about signing anything these days, I try and check everything now as you never know what rights you might be signing away.

This is not correct.

You can sign for something as damaged, I process many claims just like this every week.
Electronic signatures done on a mobile worker device will have various discrepancy codes the driver can choose (Short/Late/Refused/Damaged etc) and "Received Damaged" WILL be one of them.

You Douche,

How about you give the guy a HAND instead of just staying in the doorway in your PJ's...

seriously i get so annoyed at people having a go at these people when you can offer some help to carry the item in.

Excuse me but it's the delivery drivers job to sort out his van, you shouldn't be expected to run out in your pants just to stop some fat idiot throwing your stuff around.

Lmao.

The only parcel that was for him was a graphics card. They don't weigh much do they? You expect him to go outside in the rain in his PJs to help him deliver parcels that aren't even for him?
