Warcraft 3 - wisps killing archimonde was awesome
COD 4 - getting passed the pistol to finish off the weird arab guy before you die
Max Payne 2 - Killing vlad was the most satisfying thing ive done in a long time

Another vote for COD4. I wasn't that keen on the proper ending to stalker, although it was a nice idea to have several different endings.

Very surprised to not see Final fantasy 8 here, such a dramatic ending (with a song to boot) edit, duuh prolly cos its more a console game, just relised!

seeing laguna lament over loire, actually brung a small tear to my eyes, and eyes on me by faye wonky (sp :<) just adds all the more to the mood, even seeing seifer, watching balamb gardens fly over the habour, KNOWING what he gave up in his power hungry teen angst stage! so a deep moment if you read into the sudden change of facial expression from laughing to smiling, watchful.

oh, and zell choking on hotdogs, what more do you want?!!?!

Laguna's surname is Loire. you must be thinking of someone else. It's been AGES since i finished FF8 and i can't find my disks. what happens after you defeat ultimecia?

I agree that Full Throttle had an excellent ending.

The picture sequences in Streets of Rage I and II from the Sega Megadrive also have a special place in my heart (nice chilled out music as the credits rolled as well). The fact that I was about 12 at the time probably helped matters

Fable TLC definitely the worst, the end boss dies in 30s then there is a crappy video.

Black and Whites' ending felt very epic back in the day, also a great release after playing for that length of time. Anybody remember Crock (PSone) that ending was pretty good. And something like Half Life would have to be mentionned

Edit: although not a pc game Zelda OOT!

A valid question; I went for one which had the best 'in game' ending I could think of.

The FMV in Diablo2 is terrific, but I can't actually remember what happens at the end.
