Best IT lesson ever...

Used to play Minecraft, Halo and Counter Strike 1.6 in college during lessons. We used to run them all in window mode and hide the window in the bottom corner of the screen so the lecturer couldn't see what we were doing and it looked like we were all working from the lecturer's point of view.

Towards the end of my last year at college we all just ran the games in full screen because most of us had done finished all of our assignments.

Fun times, especially for me on Counter Strike as no-one in the class knew the game as well as I :p

Aside from that I used to annoy my friends who sat either side of me by constantly opening everything on the desktop and pressing all of the keyboard shortcuts while they weren't looking and also click dodgy looking adverts on dodgy websites while they weren't looking. If you opened a certain program the computers locked up for ages trying to open it for some reason so that was the one to go for.

Good times. Not enough work to keep me occupied :p

No you don't It's an all boys school t'was the worst period of my life as I was one o the small geeky dudes that got Bullied something harsh and I didn't even have some good "scenery" to take my mind off it!:(

You know, that explains soooo much!

We found an awesome text to speech program on a website, and used it to play messages out loud in class, or post them to the shared public folder.

"Mr Gooch takes it up the ****** and he loves it c c c c c c combo breaker"

I once wrote a vba program to open and close the cd tray every 30 seconds, my teacher wasn't that amused. but he was impressed with us playign quake II on those awful RM machines across the network and getting good latency :). Sadly he ha d aresponsibility to patch the whole in his security taht we had gotten through to install the game :(.

Ha, I used to use the high-pitched tones on the PC speaker at random or constant. Really confused the teachers :D

We just played halo and quake. It all works fine until someone decides to save the program on the school system and the IT guys figure out how we were doing it.
Then you just work your way around again :D

University machines have a lot better security, but there was still a campus wide file sharing system that is still running and IT services cant do anything about.
Good times.

Once set "*******" as somebodies background image at college, the teacher wasn't too impressed when she saw it

edit: hmm seems that word is blocked, think girl in a bath tub

The best I ever managed was a sneaky ctrl a + enter, a quick snatch of the power button, or maybe a ctrl + (arrow key) if I was feeling creative. School security was much too good to do anything interesting, all the bios and run menues and stuff is all nicely locked down :(.

Recently a member of staff emailed everyone a picture of a naughty-word though, showing up the human flaws. Years ago there used to be an after school gaming club, I think they played unreal tournament. School even upgraded some of the computers graphics cards. Unfortunately it isn't allowed any more, and I was too young to join when it was running.

Nope we played quake 3, whilist trying to make it look like we were listening.

Fastest Alt n Tab fingers in the West!

Immaturity of the OP aside, you must be a barrel of laughs to work with.

Except for being say a call centre drone then short of downloading hardcore porn or spending the entire day on facebook you're unlikely to get into trouble for breaking a company's IT policy unless they're looking to get rid of you anyway.

Depends on the company, forwarding email to private email addresses can and does result in action taken against not only the person doing it, but also the poor saps who later do a reply to all on the email chain. Thats just one of the hundreds of ways you can find yourself explaining yourself, regardless of your other performance.

A friend did that to a girl at uni, only it was some asian guy with his Wang out and it took place in the library. The lulz! :D

Ive done all sorts on my local college network such as cs 1.6 one class against the other and such though the worst probably getting the same programme they used to control the computers and using it against them was quite amusing to say it was first done in the lesson which the tutor was showing off what he could see, do and check was quite a surprise when his pc got locked and endlessly restarted :) stupid to think that they didn't think to password anything at all lol fortunately it was the towards the last few months I spent there :D

Signed someone up to a new email "[email protected]" on email.com :D

Of course the tutors moaned endlessly at us apparently crippling the WHOLE network and we got blamed for it being rubbish we even held a tournament for some sort of fund raising even :) had about 5 classes in it in the end :P it was amazing at first as only 2 classes had it but naturally it gets out :(
