Why not try Savage: Battle for Newearth. At a previous LAN one map lasted us 3 hours without us even realising it 
It's an amazing game once you get into it.
Aside from that, we're intending to run Bomberman tournaments and maybe try out some driving games like Flatout, etc.

Grand theft Auto 2!!!
it's simple and it's damn good fun for a blast in multiplayer for an hour or so both in Deathmatch and Tag mode
Also its rockstar have optimised it for "modern machines" AND its FREE download now !! (fully legal)

I've not seen anyone mention Operation Flashpoint, great game and there are loads of downloadable multiplayer missions out there.
Also Age of Mythology is a better multiplayer game than any of the AOE games. Especially if you add the expansion AI.
