GTA V

Being distracted from evening sniper rampages by such beautiful sunsets is quite something! :o

For it's time the original Crysis, and let's be honest it still holds its own today remarkably well. I'm not sure we've had such a generational leap since.

Metro LL had great visuals with a gritty, realistic art style.

Also playing RYSE at the moment which is breath-taking in places, but the narrow (and unchangeable) FOV dampens things a bit.

GTA V for the detail at distance.

Ryse does look amazing at 4K.

Dying Light impressed me big time when i first played it. the lighting especially . it has the best rain effect i have seen ever. i think it's up there within the 5 top best looking games of this gen.

+1 for crysis, i think crysis 3 looks prity amazing too!

GTAV for me , staring at the sunset from atop Mt Chilliad or driving in a massive thunder storm, can't beat that for beauty for me.

Skyrim modded is simply stunning, easily the best looking game out there, but you'll need a beast of a rig to run the high res packs. I've over 300 mods on mine, it's truly incredible to look at.

I have never played Skyrim. if I got into it now i would know where to begin with all the mods. recommend playing vanilla first or go full belt with the mods?

i have a i5 4690 with a 7970. reckon that will be capable with the mods you speak of?

At night/dawn/sunset or with dense atmospheric weather GTAV it can look amaxing but in broad daylight it can look ugly and some of the pop in is attrocious, even for a huge open world game. I also think GTA has a had a slight graphics downgrade since the last update. Rock formations look more polygonal and some shaders have been toned down or removed, like wet shaders on riverside rocks and shore sand.

You'll be able to do a fair bit with a 7970, but combining some of the more ridiculous grass mods and ENB's might be out of reach with playable performance levels.

These are not my shots here, by the way. I haven't modded Skyrim this extensively, but this is what kind of stuff is possible:

A 7970 no not at 60fps, just depends how many mods you choose to install.

Modded Skyrim is fantastic, and there are so many mods that you can tweak the visuals to suit your taste.

There's a great guide in the OP here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18340074&highlight=skyrim
