Best modern RPG?

That is short compared to Fallout 3, Oblivion & Morrowind. I guess Bethesda's the place to go for longevity...

If people are anything like me I kept re-rolling characters to use different abilities (eg going from Soldier gungho to sniper stealth to "magic and tech" etc etc) then split further into that was good and bad too lol

I think I had made a good 5 characters before I picked one to focus on to max out.

I was like that for Oblivion - always went custom class and fine tuned my major / minor skills over about 4 characters each getting to say level 4 or 5 before being tweeked again. I didn't do that for Fallout 3 though - just decide I was going to play it "as mr niaive nice guy" and made all my decisions based on that and stuck to them...

This meant I got on with playing the game for Fallout 3 but in Oblivion it was all about character development for me.

I've had Oblivion for Xbox 360 since launch day and still havent finished it lol. I played for at least 100 hours over different characters then just couldnt be bothered finishing it. lol

I think I got to level 20 before I eventually focussed on the main plot and rescued Martin from Kvatch... That game was just so huge you didn't need to bother with the main quest line.

I got really bored of Oblivion after 20 or so hours. All the mods now might make it better, but it's more hassle than it's worth for me.

I loved Knights of the Old Republic (both of them but 1>2), but then I probably clocked more hours on Neverwinter Nights than Counterstrike so unsurprising perhaps..
+1 for Deus Ex however :D

Didn't get very far on Oblivion before getting bored :( but then I didnt even finish Morrowind, although I never tried it modded

There are so few RPG's these days which sucks - if there was a choice that's all I would play. I have had such a craving tp play a free roaming RPG that I installed Morrowind and expansions over the weekend. For such an old game it looks not too bad when fully modded. Unfortunatly it keeps crashing the graphics card drivers so I am thinking about buying XP and another hard drive so I can run this plus some other older games.
