Personally I'd go red warrior from last samurai, Halcyon +On +On by Orbital from mortal combat or Masayuki Nakano & Tetsuya Takahashi - Exposed from appleseed (2004) although I think the whole score is pretty good.

People have mentioned Blade Runner and Aliens and T2 which are some of my favourite but I also like Tan Dun's music for Hero. eg

haha unfair, ofcourse that wins hands down. i dont think a tv moment has ever been as well composed as that was.

but as films go, probably:

Requim For A Dream
Sunshine Soundtrack
Kingdom Of Heaven Directors Cut Soundtrack
Friday Night Lights Soundtrack (Explosions In The Sky)

those are the 4 that stand out to me. and i fully expect to add the Tron Legacy Daft Punk OST to the list, that movie is going to be insane purely for the music
