Best PC games of the past 5 years

Fallout 4 No. 1 for me. I've been off it a couple of months catching up with other stuff, but it occupied my attention for 4 - 5 months solid after purchase.

GTA V - Just finished my second playthrough of the SP game (MP not of interest). It really is a microcosm of LA and SoCal, one of the most lifelike looking games out there. Huge improvement on GTA IV (which no longer runs on Win 10 for me anyway).

Deus Ex HR - The Director's Cut is brilliant and while not so long to play through as some of the other titles is atmospheric and absorbing, with many different play styles and alternate endings.

Skyrim - Obviously in the same genre as FO4 but with a medieval/fantasy setting. Graphics still look good and will keep you going for weeks if you seek out all the factions and side missions.

Saints Row The Third - Scrapes in as a 2011 title. Kind of the altGTA but I found it very entertaining and good fun.

Also rans: Mass Effect 2/3, Euro Truck Sim 2 (also American Truck sim) plus a few others I can't recall without looking at my lists.

Witcher 3 is phenomenal as is GTA V are both at the top in their respective genres.

Fallout 4 for me was atrocious as a fan of fallout i was left feeling entirely ripped off by how badly it was made/written ( so bad they have resorted to stealing content from the modding community of their previous titles for DLC.

Finally got back into PC gaming after a rather long hiatus.

Got a RX480 a couple of days ago and I started playing the Witcher 3 last night. However, I just know I've missed some crackers in the last few years so would really appreciate some recommendations on the best FPS and 3rd person type games of the last 5 years.

More recently I was think RoTTR, Doom, Witcher 3, but what other gems have I missed?

Tomb Raider 2013,
Dying Light,
Fallout 4,
The evil within,
Life is Strange (There making a television type series of it apparently),
Mad Max,
Metro series,
Outlast,
South park The stick of truth,
A few resident evil remakes like 4, zero and 1.
Tales of the Borderland (point & click),
Game of Thrones (point & click),
Wolfenstien Old Blood.

I just finished a game called Firewatch and was pleasantly surprised, It was a bit short (I completed it in two sittings) but it's not expensive and it's all about the story which grows on you as it unfolds. Well worth the 15 quid on Steam

For me, if I had to name what I think is actually the best game realeased in the last 5 years, I would have to go for Alien Isolation. I've played longer, more complex, or even more enjoyable games, but in terms of quality it's Alien Isolation for me.

Next 5 would be, in no order, Dishonored, Bioshock Infinite, Wasteland 2 Director's Cut, The Witcher 3, and Xcom Enemy Unknown. Xcom and wasteland are more strategy games though.

The batman series is definitely worth a look too if you haven't tried any of them. They are very high quality in every area.

Edit- also, great shout on Sleeping Dogs. Really good and underrated game with excellent combat mechanics and a good story filled with interesting characters. The driving isn't great but you get used to it. Animations, voice acting, dialogue is all top class.

I didn't know about Sleeping Dogs until this thread. :D
With the 3D option in the menus it made me dig out my old Nvidia 3D Vision Glasses, this is the first game I have actually sat down to play properly with them, apart from the few minutes dicking about in Batman Arkham Asylum when I first got the set up a few years ago.
Never thought I'd actually be playing a game with them, especially with all this rift and hive VR.
Really enjoying the game so far and the 3D just adds to it.
