Many, many players would say Scholes was the best trainer they'd ever trained with.

I don't think he was as consistent as Henry, and he never could tackle.

Scholes and Giggs have both been amazing whenever I've seen them, I remember fondly going to see them play and just been amazed by them. They've both lasted well and maintained a great level of performances.

Henry was special, really special. Amazing player in his pomp.

Shearer, well (imho) the last "proper English" forward, big, strong, dirty and just scored goals. He always seemed to score goals.

There have been really good players in the League over the years, Ronaldo had an amazing couple of seasons, Zola was special and so was Dennis B.

Also; Chris Waddle anyone?

Giggs and Scholes have both been very good players for a long period but as dannyjo says, I can't recall a single season where either have been the best player in the league.

Yea Ronaldo and Henry are awesome but Id have to go with Giggs and Scholes, Giggs has been awesome since the premier league started.

Ryan Giggs was PFA Player of the Year in 2008/09, 6 PFA Team of The Year Awards, oh yea and 17 premier league titles, but i suppose based on awesomeness and not just great careers Ronaldo was the best player with Henry coming in a close 2nd.

The stuff Scholes & Giggs have done and still doing has been out of this world though. It's the things you don't really notice sitting in the stands or watching on the TV that makes those two special.

Giggs was as deserving in '08/09 as Parker was last year.

He's been very good for a long time but at no point has he been the best player in the league, imo.

Giggs has won 12 Premier League titles, not 17.

He can't be beaten for longevity, but the best, no.

Thierry Henry for me, just made everything amazing look easy, and was one of those made it look like he never made a mistake. Bergkamp Cantona and ronaldo ( for a smaller period) were brilliant, but Theirry takes it for me just unreal what he did, always remember when he scored great goals the home fans if arsenal were away would sometimes just stand up and clap.

Exactly, you couldn't help but be astonished by him. Henry turned football into an art form and i enjoyed watching as many games as i could with him, despite being a Man Utd supporter. Just Beautiful to watch. Akin to Zidane.
