Best refreshing bottled lager for the summer days

'Like vomit in my mouth'.... yeah, beer snobs are so cool.
Its a fair description, i find most lagers weak in flavour. My description would be as if they made a beer then watered it down. Does that make me a snob for preferring something with more of a flavour profile.

I don’t know why your pushing the point, the people clearly look down on people who drink those beers = snob.

A lot of those craft beers are nice, but they’re quite particular, too strong and a bit too heavy. I’m talking about these weak lagers because they can easily be drunk all day. Maybe I’m a lightweight, but with craft beers, I can only drink one or two before my stomach says that’s enough.

There are a lot of light craft beers, it's just finding them. Generally you look for the lighter colour and lower abv.

I don't look down on people that drink the same beer all the time, bit they're missing out on some great other flavours by not trying other beers.
I find anything that's labelled a lager generally has a very narrow flavour profile. They all taste very similar to me which is boring.

lol @ quenching thirst with a complex or expensive craft brew. Really suitable for drinking 2 litres on a 30 degree day.

Also Cobra, Becks, anything without rice in it will do.

I've tried tons. In fact I even had several cases delivered from a monthly subscription. They majority of them tasted rank with a handful of good ones. They are overpowering. You don't want something that strong flavoured on a hot sunny day. You want something refreshing. As in yo would rather eat a tuna / may / sweetcorn wrap than shepherds pie in the sun.

I would just get some Don Simon Lemon & Lime. A 2 litre bottle of 7-up or sprite and a litre bottle of Russian Standard and then mix the 3 into a large cooler with lots of ice like this one/ Add some fresh home grown mint and let everyone help themselves.

In fact I did this at my last BBQ and everyone loved it. the next BBQ they went to they all wanted it again but alas the host didn't have anything like it.

I get what you mean.
My go to summer bbq drink is midori and lemonade with loads of ice. Can easy drink a full bottle in a day and not really feel any effects.

you just made me want to buy a bottle of midori now. it's pretty weak though is it not? i normally just have it with ice.

which is why i go with a litre of russian standard and the above mix. mind you russian standard is no longer 40% like it used to be.

Yes it is fairly weak, but who cares how much alcohol is in something if it tastes nice. I drink for the favour not the getting hammered.lol

I guess everyone has their own preference, I can easily drink something like dead pony club all day as it's low abv and I like that flavour...
Saison beers are brewed specifically for being refreshing on a hot day (originally brewed for farm workers and usually low abv too - although some (plenty) exceptions to that)

I don't tend to drink the mass produced lagers these days purely because there's so much good choice out there nowadays it seems a waste to get steaming on utility lager, even the innis and gunn lager is a bit of a step up imo (one I would definitely avoid is the brewgooder lager, good intentioned but rank rotten!)

Agreed, i think there's a lot of a misconception that craft beer = big strong IPA's.

There are loads of pale ales or Session IPAs which are around the 3.5%-4% mark which are incredibly refreshing. But for strength most of the European lagers mentioned in this thread are 5% anyway (Heineken, Amstel, Cobra etc) which is must stronger than the above ales.
