Best Retro Handheld

I've held off, for now.

Does anyone know if its possible to clone or copy storage from one Android device to another?
I've lost count of the amount of times i've setup emulators on different Android handhelds now, surely there is a quicker way than setting everything up again.
e.g. I would like to copy contents from my Odin 2 mini pro to Retroid pocket classic. Will probably end doing a new setup, at least its all fresh again then

Not sure to be honest, I made sure and backed up my games when I sold the Odin 2 but appreciate I'll need to setup the Emu's up fresh on the Odin 3

Emu setup isnt too hard but would be nice to take my Winlator container - that said the rp classic gpu is low end so wont be playing much 3d anyway.
Itll top out at Saturn and Dc i guess but could try a bit of 3d in Winlator

I have lost the love for my Retroid Pocket 5 at the moment as I think I have finished tinkering with it and now looking for the next thing. Will prolly sell it to make space for the Thor or the Odin 3 :D
I received mine recently and have just downloaded some ROMs and emulators, going to watch some videos about Retroarch setup soon. It is more of a learning curve than I anticipated, but hopefully will be worth it!

Won't buying another handheld just be the same process though? Albeit different hardware

Yes pretty much and the various nuances between each of them. I think I spend more time setting up than actually playing games on it. At the moment having a mess about with the new version of GameHub which apparently has Steam cloud sync support, but I have yet to get it to work properly.

I tried some app and managed to login to steam on my odin 2 mini pro. I could see my games, but nothing launched (as it was apparently using an outdated version of winlator)

I went back to using winlator latest version where things run fine (just no steam connectivity)

What needs to happen is winlator development to add wifi & steam support, then it would work.

Unless you buy a non android handheld, yes. Also to note the retroid pocket 5 and mini support rocknix

I can only get Gamehub to down sync from Steam , but not up sync back to Steam cloud at the moment. But I got a feeling in a few more days , Gamehub will have cracked it

AYANEO Flip DS? Its a chunky monster and pretty expensive - $1140 32GB/2TB / $1400 64GB/2TB

AYN Thor would be my choice for flip but im eyeing up the Odin 3 with the SD 8 Elite. Just slightly annoyed at the change to Nintendo button layout.

no i think its called the miyoo flip it looks like a game boy advance sp.

Just purchased the retroid pocket 5 in snes grey my first retro handheld.

Actually I got a refund from Ebay and decided I will buy new. Best place to get a retroid pocket 5 front and is it better to put the games on yourself ?

How rude

Not quite sure what system the dual analogs are used for on a H700 chip device, but £41 is a bargain :)
PS1 games was my thinking.
£41 was definitely a bargain as it's already arrived and sat at home waiting for me. Hopefully my 256GB microsd should also be here today.

Maybe some light Dreamcast and N64
I've never really played any N64 or Dreamcast specific games, so have been busy looking into games today :)

Depending on the game, I still prefer using an stick over a d-pad anyway. Mostly games where you are holding the same direction for a bit. So RPGs mostl; think walking. Given these make up 99% of my gametime, it becomes pretty important to me :)

Console and Micro SD have arrived. Unfortunately didn't realise my USB SD card reader is so slow (it's a USB2.0 model) - currently taking an age (3 hours!) to do an image backup of the microsd that came with it.

New micro SD reader ordered as well - might get to play on it tomorrow :D

This is the best i've had and use all the time.

I had a Sandisk one, but it stopped reading sd cards all together! - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07G5JV2B5
I've had others too, UGreen, Belkin, Anker. If yours stops working and isnt the Integral, id say get one as its only £5.

Sustained write speed of ~70MB/s on an Amazone basics V30 A2 512GB card

I've got a real hankering for a 4:3 device now. There's been a couple of new ones announced since the RG477M a few months back - there's the RG476H, which I love the look of, but it annoyingly has a weaker SoC than the 477, plus an all-glass front which I'm not keen on. Plus there's the Ayaneo Pocket Air Mini, but the screen is smaller, no price announced yet, and the design and colour options aren't my favourite compared to Anbernic.

I'm really hoping Anbernic just merge the RG477M and RG476H, and release a 476 with the internals of the 477, keep the analog triggers, use a better fan and a non-glass front. Endgame device for me right there.
