Best routines for stomach fat loss?

I'd say not to get too excited about BMI figures, it's not a very flexible measurement for different body types where the weight can be more muscle than fat. Guess the body fat figure is better to use, 16.7 sounds pretty decent to me?

If you're looking at exercises to burn calories quickly would agree cycling's not the best for that unless you want to pedal up a big hill for half an hour non-stop. When I used to go to gym we had at work the figures from treadmill, exercise bike and rowing machine showed you burning twice as many calories in the same time for rowing or running compared to cycling.

Training plans I've had from an Endurance coach included long rides (2-4 hours) at moderate effort based on heart rate zones so in theory you'd be using body fat for fuel rather than carbs. Was also tailored to getting your body more efficient at lower HRM zones, as once you get into burning carbs you're also getting closer to threshold and producing lactic acid. In reality I've only ever done long sessions like that on a turbo trainer over winter as you just cant stick to the levels needed if you're out in groups on the roads.

Not sure if serious or treading on gym bro toes without checking your post history so might just bail out about now...

Just didn't see any point to your pointless post about cycling for 6 hours a week which is making you lose fat and build muscle at the same time and you were just about to eat some ice cream. Yea ok thanks for the info.

Not really. The body uses whatever fuel is available to it... so irrespective of effort, your body will go for glycogen stores first, then fat. It is just the way everybody works.

Yeah, in a thread about losing fat I can see how that might appear irrelevant.

I cycle 6 hours a week on average, eat what I want and I'm losing fat and building muscle. Sorted.

Just about to eat some ice cream, as it happens.

Last 4 Weeks
Avg Rides / Week 3
Avg Distance / Week 83 mi
Avg Time / Week 7h 26m
I've been eating loads of icecream recently too but not really put on weight.
I've eat like 2litres in the past week :D

put on a few lbs though... so will need to take it easy from now would have expected to put on far more tbh

Just goto gym and eat less calories... and keep doing it.

I am 3 months into gym now ( weights gym ) and have cut down eating crap.

I was 18 stone when i started and am still 18 stone.... BUT i have lost a lot of fat and have much better muscle tone, to the point where it is being noticed now. the gym owner is a bodybuilder who does shows and he has personally helped me understand what i need to do. I am a natural "bearmode" and i am already getting big shoulders, legs and arms even after only 3 months on doing weights. He assures me that if i can just keep doing the same my body will sort itself out and i can achieve brick outhouse within a few years :p

I have a long road... prob 2 years before i can train for specific muscle groups but im fine just going 3 or 4 times a week for an hour, doing my work out and not really thinking about it. Its a slow process to over turn the effect of years of junk food and laziness.

The best thing recently was when i went to stay at my friends house for her birthday... we have known each other for 20+ years and i hadnt seen her for about 6 months. I got out of shower chucked boxers on and t shirt and went into sitting room for my water and she just said "jesus look at you're legs!!" in a good way lol

Please post pics of your huge mass or benching/squatting four plates if you're going to nail somebody for posting. Whilst I don't get the "can't train specific muscle groups for two years" bit, there's no need to be an armchair critic for no real, good reason.

The chap is in that first three months of noob gains, as a brotege, so let him enjoy that added blood flow whilst he still can. :)

I'm not saying he can't enjoy it, just letting him know it gave me a good laugh.

Without providing him useful feedback (and that - on the face of it - his post was internet serious), it just comes across as callous and mocking.

So may I suggest you provide constructive feedback? Such as an explanation as to why the assumption that not training specific muscle groups for two years is bizarre? And why you think getting some "mirinz" from the opposite "Tuesday lolz"-worthy?

Advised not to train specific groups until i have lost weight... which we worked out to be about 2 years on a realistic approach of 1 lb per 2 weeks. By specific i mean trying to be a proper body builder.... of COURSE my workouts do the usual splits... this advice comes from a man who has won multiple body building competitions in the uk. I should point out that i want to be fit not a musclebound freak... i dont want to be BIG just drop bodyfat and be healthy.

Get fit then get serious if that is what i decide i want is the advice i got from the trainer. To be honest he seems to be providing good advice and instead of making me into a steroid popping meat-head but a normal well rounded person ill go with it :p

And yes 3 months my legs look 10 times better.... i never had fat legs anyway, but im glad i provided a simple mind like yourself with a bit of a giggle. My pleasure ;)

As a back story... im 39 now, after a bad time in my life early 20s i ate myself to close to 23 stone. Few years back i got a grip and got down to 18 and managed to get over my daft mental block and join a gym.

Luckily for me all the guys there are great and no one has made fun of me, joked about me or put me off... infact quite the opposite. Its going to be a slow process but thankfully i CAN see a physical change after only 3 months, and thats all that matters to me.

Oh and natural bear yes... its called being barrel chested, huge shoulders and naturally muscled... ok i have got a big gut thanks to eating the earth but as pointed out by my trainer... there are lads in there who have been trying for years to get big and just cant... genetics play a role or do you not agree? personally i will go with the bloke who has won body building competitions.
