Best savings account?

T212 Cash ISA all setup and it was pretty instant to transfer cash into, had to use my desktop as the mobile app just forwarded me to my banking app which didn't know what to do lol, don't care about instant access to the funds, I have a credit card for any emergencies that are beyond my available cash balance.

I received an income tax rebate this morning and as party of the calculations, it included how much interest I made in the 2023/24 tax year. Except it was wildly wrong, being less than 10% of my actual interest accrued.

It makes me think that HMRC don't really have a good way of tracking these things.

I think I'll keep Barclays for a month after they move to Apple TV as an incentive as there's a small handful of shows that I want to watch.

After that, goodbye.

This post needs more detail.

How many millions did you earn in interest?

If you have a multi year savings account, check that it doesn't pay out at maturity instead of annually.

Only if you've got the boost, there were conditions attached to getting it IIRC.
You only have to have less that 50K in chase savings on May 2nd. Otherwise it's open to everyone.

At least 0.0005 million/£500. I didn't keep track of it as I knew I wouldn't reach the £1000 PSA but it was definitely more than £49. I had a first direct regular saver mature which was £136 on it's own, nearly £200 from RBS, over £100 from Chip, over £300 from Santander. Smaller amounts from YBS, Skipton, Tandem etc.

Apart from regular savers, I only use accounts that pay out monthly.

Don't really see the point vs chucking it into Cash ISA via T212 at 5.2% or Chase at 5.1%, or ZOPA at 5.08% if they're still doing it.

Only matters if you have so much in cash that you're exceeding the £75K protection in one place, but in that scenario you should probably also have more cash in other investments anyway.

Some or all of you trading 212 may not have fscs 85k protection

Cash ISA is fully FSCS protected, probably in all 3 of the providers I mentioned but certainly in T212, ignoring your own potential bank account cash holdings elsewhere anyway.
Uninvested balances in 212 are not always protected.

Although as said before, if ever there is an issue with UK money market funds its safe to say the world as we know it has ended and FSCS protection will mean nothing.
