Best SIM only deal for Nexus 4?

I cannot choose between Virgin Mobile and Three :p Seems easy enough:

Three
12 Months
£12.90
600 Mins
5000 Texts
1GB Data
No teathering

Virgin Mobile
1 Month
£12.00
1200 Mins
3000 Texts
1GB Data
Teathering Included

Seems obvious... BUT! Three is being recommended everywhere, I cannot help but think that there is an issue with Virgin Mobile...

Will have to see...

Fox is on Virgin, he loves them.

Don't forget cashback with Three if you go with them though!

But is Three that much better than Virgin that it is worth the hassle? The Virgin deal, excluding cash back, is cheaper and includes double the mins, unlimited texts (got that wrong before) and the same data with teathering. Not sure *what* it is Three offer? Is their internet faster or something?

Threes deals are built on heavy data usage, so at 1Gb a month, you aren't in threes biggest market. Once you start looking at unlimited data, three are extremely cheap.

I think the Vriging deal is better if you want lots of minutes......but Three is good if you just want Unlimited internet....

Possibly, but if you want unlimited internet the cheapest on Three is:

£12.90
1 Month
200 Mins
5000 Texts
AYCE Data
No teathering

The nearest on Virgin is:

£12.00
1 Month
150 Mins
Unlimited Texts
Unlimited Data
Teathering

I know that it has 50 mins less but cheaper and supports teathering which I guess it more important for those who favour data. Don't get me wrong - I'm not suggesting people are wrong for looking at Three but I'm trying to work out why (for my own peace of mind) Virgin Mobile is not recommended as heavily compared to Three, not only on here but other sites, too.

It seems to me that Virgin are very competitive... There has to be *something* Three offer which Virgin don't but at the moment I don't see it.

The only reason I am so interested is that I'm looking for a new SIM only deal myself. For me, Virgin seems clear cut as I require 600 Mins. To get that on Three on a 1 month rolling is £15.90 (rather than £12.00 on Virgin) and still it has less minutes, texts and no teathering compared. I must be missing something!

Virgin doesn't do unlimited Internet, read t&cs

Fair Usage: If your Contract Allowance provides unlimited data access within the UK this will be subject to a fair use limit of 3GB. If we think your use is excessive or that you are abusing the service we may ask you to moderate your usage and/or we reserve the right to charge you for the excessive element of your usage at the standard out of bundle data rate.

That's for mobile broadband.

For customers who joined Virgin Media after 25 June 2012 excessive use over 10GB of data per calendar month will result in their maximum bandwidth being restricted to 3G speeds (384kbit/s) on our network between midday and midnight.

This policy will apply until the end of the calendar month, when it will be automatically
removed.

You: Okay but you do have a 10GB per month FUP? Which only results in decreased speeds and not extra charges?
Emma: No, there is no fair usage policy.
Emma: You can as much as you can.

I don't live in London, so I can't comment, but is the O2 network still bad since this happened?

I don't know if the network sharing has taken effect yet.

I went with Giffgaff to take advantage of the free Giffgaff-Giffgaff calls. I managed to get all my family and gf on it so it's basically £12 per month for unlimited calls, texts, and data. Cheers I will. They also have very low PAYG rates in general, even when you don't currently have a "Goodybag" applied.

I'm just glad there is a better range of SIM only deals available now. Three, Virgin and GG deals are all pretty decent.

Ordered a Three Unlimited Internet SIM 600 on Wednesday and my TCB has just tracked at £52.69. :) £11.51 (if you round it up) a month, very nice!

I've gone for the Virgin £12 deal. The plan is to use it for a month or two and see how my usage is before deciding whether I really need the unlimited offered by Three or not. Sure I could get a 30 day contract on Three but it'd be ~£15 rather than ~£12 (for the same data allowance) and less minutes. Might be able to get a better deal out of Virgin by then anyway... Here's to hoping!

Apparently Virgin do have some very good retention deals even after only being with them for a few months.

All I want to know is does iPhone tethering work on iPhone? As they need to be a reconised carrier and I know giffgaff aren't, so I assume virgin aren't either? Anyone confirm or deny?
