see my understanding is the fastest read/right/seek of any hard drive is the outside of the platter.
The hard drives have a fixed speed. And read like a turntable from outside in.
Where as CD/DVDs read from inside to the outside of the platter but to keep the quality the same over the entire disk they are variable speed.
So to get the best out of my win7 64bt and programmes i have all ways partitioned my operating hard drives to around 15-20% . There fore using the outside of the disc for best performance.
And as this is my first time using raid i needed to know when to partition my raid 0.
Could any one recommend a good raid card?
