The website may look rubbish, but the service is 5 star, it's basically Parcelforce, they collect your item and deliver it and for some reason it's cheaper than actually using them through the parcelforce website.

To make it clear, they use parcelforce to collect and deliver you item.

The Post Office will do it for you for ~£12.50. I sent one a few months back, it was just a pig to carry it there

buy it, but ask them to drop it round at your parents....

This is definitely the best way. Have sent about 3 guitar amps with them for £8 a go. It's daylight robbery I tell you!

Get a courier such as DHL or parcel2go to come and collect and deliver it for you. I think I paid £15 to send a full computer system once which was very heavy with DHL. Most offer a next day delivery system aswell.

Thanks for all the suggestions - got a few fair to look in to!

The thing is ******* me off though. I have no use for it, it takes up space, no one wants to buy it and I have no means of transporting it. Yet it's still too good to throw out or give away for free (Mitsubishi 750SB). CRTs really are a dead duck!
