why do you think it struck in Fife (north of Edinburgh)... I was sending a package to my aunt in Aberdeen.... must have been a dirty needle or something as Super Mofo Carrier Pigeon mark I was 'caputred' by DEFRA..... dammit!

Is it just me or does that dodgy dot-gif filled flashy website make the company look really untrustworthy.

i think i will still stick to my balloon idea.

count yourself out of buisness, Mark II Pigeons can use their discarded needles to bring your packages back to earth... rapidly! :p

You could imagine the sun front page for this...
Man sends CRT via hot air baloon!!!!!!!!!

The website may look rubbish, but the service is 5 star, it's basically Parcelforce, they collect your item and deliver it and for some reason it's cheaper than actually using them through the parcelforce website. :)

To make it clear, they use parcelforce to collect and deliver you item.

The Post Office will do it for you for ~£12.50. I sent one a few months back, it was just a pig to carry it there :D

find someone up north who has a 17" for sale for £20,

buy it, but ask them to drop it round at your parents....

I can hardly give them away at work.
.

Im sure that pigeons could differentiate between 14 and 14a our postman can't.

While we are making stupid comments I suggest a large catapult... oh and a crashmat at the other end to avoid breakage.

Get a courier such as DHL or parcel2go to come and collect and deliver it for you. I think I paid £15 to send a full computer system once which was very heavy with DHL. Most offer a next day delivery system aswell.

Thanks for all the suggestions - got a few fair to look in to!

The thing is ******* me off though. I have no use for it, it takes up space, no one wants to buy it and I have no means of transporting it. Yet it's still too good to throw out or give away for free (Mitsubishi 750SB). CRTs really are a dead duck!
