no research given they are not out for review yet.

Yes, I know mate I'll post links to reviews as they appear.

Personally, I'm looking for the top ITX board but fear there will be nothing available to do the 3900x justice. Next step would be a mATX board and that's the space that could be more interesting as AM4 has not previously had any real choice for mATX. It may well be that the only feasible choice for 3900x will be ATX.

Plenty research to be done as information becomes available. :)

I currently have the x470i so I'm not sure the x570i will offer much more other than the ability to RAID 0 the M.2 drives and PCIE 4?

I'm assuming the Impact will have better power delivery and that'll interest me as I'm going for the top CPU, but I'll struggle to get it into my case without sacrificing a radiator+fans.

@EsaT yes, I think I'll give Asus a swerve this time round. I've had almost half a dozen of their boards in the past and I do like the BIOS and features, but there's probably better value elsewhere.

I'm pretty much convinced that I'll move from ITX to ATX this time too, there's simply more choice.

Personally I doubt it's worth any extra cost beyond a few pounds unless you have a niche use. You can't really see any real world difference between the likes of NVMe and SATA SSD drives as it is.

Do you think there's an advantage to moving from Nvme to Nvme RAID?

I have 2 that I could use, but if my current motherboard is confirmed as fine in terms of power deliver etc. then I'm running out of reasons to justify the move to an x570 board.

The ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact and the Gigabyte X570-I Aorus Pro look the most interesting to me. If I end up getting the Impact, just got to hope and pray nothing goes wrong with it, otherwise there'll be the headache of dealing with the dreaded ASUS customer "support".

Do we feel that ITX has the power delivery etc.. to handle the top chips, 3900x / 3950x

ekwb will be loving this ! mono blocks for boards hopefully!

That would be the clincher for me; a monoblock for my ITX system. :)

Do it ! I'm warming around to ITX.
Did have a design with pravum a long while ago for ITX to handle dual 280 loops , small and kind of like TJ07 mixed with PC011 dynamic.. but those cases to dangerous around kids

Are you talking about the sharp edges? If so, I agree. I do love my Veer, right enough, I just make my Man-Cave a kid free zone ;)

The board of choice for me is looking very much like the X570 I Aorus. I need to decide whether to go 3900x or 3950x. I'm also hanging on to the possibility of dropping my chosen CPU into my existing X470 I with a BIOS update.

As much as I'm ready to pre order, I just don't think there's enough info available to aid my choices. This is exacerbated by AMDs insistence on NDA right up until release day.
